Strange isn't it... the people who actually live in London overwhelmingly think it's safe.... almost like everyone else is falling for a lie
I wonder what Londoners know that the rest of the country don’t?
For those keeping score, Bellingcat, The New York Times Visual Investigation Team, & Washington Post's Visual Forensic team have all published analysis showing the ICE shooter wasn't in the path of Renee Nicole Good’s vehicle when he shot her, contradicting statements by the President & his cronies
Bit of good news - the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction agreement, which protects marine biodiversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction, comes into force on 17 January. It has 145 signatories (although the US has not signed up)

2026 is a continued opportunity to show things can be different to the narrative of rage and dehumanising others, simply by how we act and behave respectfully and caringly towards each other; and by muting and downplaying those who would profit from having things otherwise.

So keep building places of hope, encounter and care, and dont amplify the messengers, algorithms and bots that would trigger us to rage. For those of us who’ve experienced 2025 Jubilee of Hope, this is a reminder to keep going

One in five Britons feel 'suddenly and deeply thankful to be alive' on weekly basis – while one in seven never feel this way, study finds | King's College London
Public views on thankfulness, awe and wonder noticeably vary across different groups

most non-religious people experience thankfulness and awe too, and a majority don't see belief in God as essential for thankfulness. Religious belief correlates with thankfulness but that’s obviously not whole story

Key Findings:

one in five people (22%) feel "suddenly and deeply thankful to be alive" weekly. 70% have felt this way at some point.

Young people (18-34) significantly more likely to feel thankful and experience awe at nature compared to older, with 42% of young adults feeling thankful weekly.

“Grateful Britain" KCL Policy Institute, Dec 2025, explores thankfulness, awe, and wonder in the UK public, finding many Britons experience intense thankfulness, especially young people, with varying patterns across demographics, and highlights the growing spirituality among youth seeking meaning.

At a time when social media gives the impression everyone is being triggered to rage by almost anything. - and yes many actors and bots on social media seem to exist to stir up just that - this report from Kings College tells a different story

Nothing says Christmas quite like a bear and a coffee pot in a tree…errr

Edith Stein, writing for Christmas about love being to whoever needs it, not just blood relations. “There is no stranger” She wrote this in 1931. 11 years later she went to her death in Auschwitz. Wishing you and all a very Happy Christmas. Pax et Bonum

Our chapter argues that effective support for improvement is not just about technical expertise—it depends on understanding the unique culture, politics, and relationships within each context.
