The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

It was great working with Zeteo’s editors and rigorous fact-checker.

And I’m most grateful they let me say this in the last graf, something I’ve been try to get at with these ICE flights for awhile.

The disparity between the luxurious aircraft and its shackled, vilified passengers must have been quite a sight, but they are not unrelated. Corrupt officials transferring state funds to personal accounts, governments with empty treasuries and desperate citizens, luxury highrises, the criminalization of the unhoused and undocumented, billions spent on political campaign pageantry, aiding genocide from a faraway ballroom and calling it "charity," tax breaks for flying masked agents and nameless prisoners under cover of darkness - all are the spoils of oligarchy.

Janet Mills will be 78 when the campaign goes underway and 85 at the end of her term, if she outlives the actuarial tables. Chuck Schumer (who turns 75 in just a few days) thinks that's fine. Most Maine voters think she's way too old, and they're right. The Democratic gerontocracy needs to wake up.
