However bad you think the police surveillance state has become, it’s worse. Here a tiny police force has blanketed a tiny town in a network of cameras to track every person and vehicle that goes through. Which leads a cop to this woman’s house to lie to her to coax a false confession.

The sergeant later revealed that Bow Mar's cameras showed she was in town from "11:52
until 12:09 exactly," which is apparently when the package - total value $25 - was stolen.
Bow Mar has positioned cameras at the town's entrances for more than five years, and also has provided discounted Ring cameras for homes, CBS Colorado reported earlier.
"Like I said, nothing gets in or out of the town without us knowing," the sergeant told Elser.
Besides the data from the surveillance cameras, the sergeant also said he had footage from the theft victim's own security camera, which he claimed showed Elser in the act. She staunchly denied it.

But Milliman refused to show the evidence to Elser as they stood on her doorstep — since, according to him, she wouldn't admit her own guilt.
"If you're going to deny it, I'm not going to give you any courtesy. If you're going to lie to me, I'm not going to give you any courtesy," he said in the video.
The sergeant left her with a summons for petty theft, a December court date and a gnawing feeling in her gut.

While OpenAI appears to have succeeded in making ChatGPT safer, the data it shared has significant limitations. The company designed its own benchmarks, and it's unclear how these metrics translate into real-world outcomes. Even if the model produced better answers in the doctor evaluations, there is no way to know whether users experiencing psychosis, suicidal thoughts, or unhealthy emotional attachment will actually seek help faster or change their behavior.
