He's incredible in his appearances on Game Changer.

Possibly my favorite example of this.

I play Immaculate Grid by using only players who appeared for the SF/NY Giants, so I feel obligated to note that it feels EXTREMELY improbable that there would be only two players in MLB history who took at bats for the Giants, Twins, and Royals. Two!

Once again, it's kind of amazing how you can pick as few as three MLB teams (let alone four) and end up with a shockingly small number of guys who played for all three.

MLB's final four has been set, aka the Henry Blanco gauntlet, named for the only player to play for the Dodgers, Brewers, Blue Jays, and Mariners

Late to this, but... Morbius, House of Gucci, and, apparently, this Tron disaster should all ensure Leto's done as a project-carrying star, right? (I mention Gucci because while every actor was in a different movie from each other, Leto was in a Mario Bros SNL parody)

Why are we still paying Jared Leto to do things, I thought we learned our lesson about that

It is a strange timeline where Indiana's résumé includes a 63-10 win over a highly-ranked team and a strong path to an undefeated season.

Indiana is the real fucking deal

This is going to create a lot of horrific situations in states with leaders who don't believe in actually caring for other people. It's a damn tragedy.

The end of federal enforcement of special ed laws. Some states - including MN - will likely be ok. But a lot of disabled kids in a lot of states are going to lose the education that federal law and decades of jurisprudence say they are owed.

The Education Department laid off nearly everyone at the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services.

Reading The Running Man because the movie's coming out soon, I'm about 1/3 through, and... this book is racist as hell, right? I'm not even talking about the slurs — the characterizations are appalling, and I don't sense that there's a subversion coming.

My favorite Jordan Peterson thing is how he styles himself a Master of Narrative who has a deep understanding of How Stories Work, and yet he didn't understand fundamental plot mechanics of the movie "Frozen". time.com/5176537/jord...

What's this about editing grown up movies?!

There's a Simpsons joke from the 90s about exactly this!

One of my driving ideas for this podcast is that it's good for kids to hear adults talking about stuff that interests them. So, while each episode is adults speaking with each other, the conversations are still accessible to kids, *and* we're not talking down to them — we're inviting their attention

The palpable relief of reading a syntactically awkward student paper nevertheless brimming with ideas they’re trying on after having to consume the stale cardboard generalities of a Chat GPT essay.

I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

Every time I see a Mamdani ad, I want that kind of figure to rise up in San Francisco.

I really recommend browsing a reddit called "Is this AI?" for this purpose. people post questionable images and commenters weigh in on their validity, but are required to provide specifics as to their reasoning. once you start seeing the signs, it gets easier and easier over time

I genuinely cannot express how vital it is that you train yourself to recognize AI-generated images and videos for your own good because none of this is going away and many, many people are counting on you to fall for their shit

what I find frustrating about this is that Zohran won the primary because he successfully occupied both the magnetism and pollingism positions at the same time, focusing his obvious charisma and skilled campaign apparatus on a message designed to win the median voter www.nytimes.com/2025/10/11/o...

This feels like the craziest thing: The White Sox, an original franchise, have only had one winner-take-all game in their franchise history. Wild Card round in the covid season.

You ever look around and think, "wow, it's incredible any of this even came to be, the fact that we even exist in this moment is a plain miracle, all of it totally contingent on accidents of history like A.J. Hinch pulling Tarik Skubal (at least) one inning too early"?
