Thinking about this again for absolutely no reason at all.
I still think January 2027 is the inflection point. If Vance becomes POTUS after that, he can win in 28 and still run again in 32. So, if right wingers are gonna shiv Trump, it'll be with that date in mind.

maybe relatedly, dental offices are an absolute hotbed of employment law violations. it's wild. you've got handsy dentists. you've got constant pregnancy discrimination because everyone who works there is a woman under 35.

If you don't sign a player in time for him to be ready for Opening Day, you don't get him for a full season. That's more than sufficient to function as a deadline. Owners are just trying to create more barriers to players getting paid. It's been rinse and repeat since 1975.

It's not an excuse, but it is worth remembering that mayors in most cities very much do not have control over their police departments if the mayor doesn't like something the cops want to do, a phenomenon that would be a red alert civ-mil alarm with the military but something we all accept w/cops
