For the rest of the hemisphere, América doesn't mean the U.S.

It’s important to keep the size of the MAGA movement in perspective. Same with ICE and other arms of the Trump regime. They act big and are loud enough to seem omnipresent. They do awful things to make splashes. But as tonight showed, they are terribly, terribly small. Don’t forget that.

Crypto, eugenics, fantasies of global control.

Was Jeffrey Epstein a godfather of tech fascism?

This, from @jamellebouie.net is exactly right. And I think so many folks have refused to see or admit what Trump is because admitting implicates them, or their families, so denial is easier.

I love how half of Trump’s communications are all about what a shithole every large American city is and half is about how if you don’t love America, you’re a terrorist.

It’s insane that the Trump admin wants to double the already massive US military budget in just 2 years when we are not at war. Trump’s DOD budgets are a cesspool of corruption and grift for the military industrial complex, scammers and grifters, including Donald Trump, Jr.

A crucial point bc, as Cedric Robinson reminds us, “the first attack is an attack on culture.”

Culture is the “common sense“ language through which power is mediated. It is the weakest point in fascist systems & disproportionately facilitates their collapse.
Trump is badly losing the war over ICE, not just on the streets, but also in the culture. As Bad Bunny shows, this has become a culture war unto itself. Trump-MAGA's initial hubris has been utterly deflated.

I've got fresh data illustrating the point. 1/

Trump Rages at Bad Bunny—and Accidentally Exposes a Big MAGA Weakness
MAGA’s hatred of the Super Bowl halftime performer reflects a hubris about what parts of the culture are “theirs.” But those assumptions are proving more wrong every day.

Striking from Marquette poll:

Majorities of non-college grads and even 50% of rural Americans disapprove of ICE handling of enforcement. Majorities of both oppose deporting longtime residents with jobs/no criminal records.
