Voting to fund Trump's paramilitary organization because they are afraid to look weak on migration is not a winning strategy for the Democrats.

always so funny to me when people are like “how am I supposed to explain Gay to my kids?” my kid asks me way harder shit all the time. “why did they build the road this way? why are some people bad?” I don’t know. please ask me about Gay

If you hit someone with enough wet noodles, they are eventually forced to leave the pool. Or you can just say “welp, guess we gotta just let them sh!t in the pool, since all we have are these 200 wet pool noodles”
Speaking out like this is all they can do now. Impeachment is a total and complete joke, and threatening to use it is akin to threatening to hit someone with a wet noodle. Impeachment is no longer a viable tool to use against Republican politicians.

Just so everyone is clear: the valve here releases pressure that would otherwise build on her leadership from within her party.

She would rather lose the country than her own job.

The truth is that the naming of “Homeland” security was ALWAYS fascist-coded. We should not be surprised that it has grown into a fascist organization.

why have they been allowed to get away with this "paid protester" lie every single time for the last decade or so? is it just because its a really quick lie and its easier to just move on? is it because everyone is too lazy to just say "prove it"?
"You're seeing a lot of paid protesters" -- Rep. Mike Haridopolos's attempt to defend ICE's tactics in Minneapolis during a CNN panel discussion this morning did not go well. Bad used car salesman vibes.

One of the best things to happen to Canadian politics recently is Charlie Angus freeing himself from the requirement to be a team player within the NDP, allowing him to write things like this. open.substack.com/pub/charliea...
Venezuela - The Lesson for Canada
Make no mistake, the attack on Venezuela by the Trump regime is not about removing a rogue leader; it is a deliberate attack on international law.

“Mandatory philanthropic involvement” is a terribly misguided idea. Why would we trust people completely detached from reality about what is valuable to society? Just tax them.

21. And before team Yglesias responds by saying "yeah, but it's bad politics to run on climate and energy"... I'd point out that I've won 4 elections in a very purple district running on climate and energy. Pro-tip: leadership is possible! You don't have to be stupid to win!

“With [current policy] set to reduce emissions 21%…well short of the national target of a 40 to 45% reduction. Even when [ECCC] includes measures that have been announced but not yet implemented, the modelling only yields a 28 per cent reduction by 2030.” www.nationalobserver.com/2025/12/17/n...
Ottawa confirms it will miss emission targets unless major policy shifts are made
The federal government will need to make policy adjustments immediately if it is intent on hitting its 2026 and 2030 emission reduction targets, experts say.

After the “AI” crash-out, can we repurpose all of the excess data centers into grid connected battery storage for cheap solar? That should be quite cheap to do. Grid interconnects already there.
