my “AI is over” anecdote is that my wife was hired over the summer to write scripts for a big tech company explaining how to use their AI tools and after many rounds of revisions, the latest notes said “we’re finding a lot of AI fatigue among our users” and to remove all references to AI
Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother

As I always do with boycotts, I urge: be tough with corporations, gentle with individual buyers. For some people, Black Friday sales are the way they get their kids jackets that fit, shoes that hold up to the weather. Yelling at them doesn’t help the cause.

My mom sent a video of everyone saying hi since I couldn't be there, but before she walked in the room she said "Please pardon [youngest brother's] outfit, he didn't know what time we were eating." And then she rounds the corner and he's wearing a t-shirt, looking completely normal. 😂

My nephew drew a picture of their dog that went over the rainbow bridge earlier this year and said he's thankful they got to have him 😭 apparently he was confused why we aren't there and I'm like, we're coming for Christmas, buddy!!! I promise!

I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I'm very sad for everyone with nice families who might not get to go home for Thanksgiving because of the winter storm coming, but it's getting me out of playing free therapist and guilt trips about not wanting to babysit my grownass toxic cousin who loves to commit felonies.
