Seriously it looks like the haphazard jackhammer approach was intentional. Could have scaffolded/tarped and treated the place with respect. I mean, it’s the photo of the year IMO as a visual representation of Trumps complete destruction.
Good call closing the highway, CHP and Gov Newsom.
Looks like the military was planning to shoot 60 of these suckers over the highway, but scrapped it when one exploded early and sprayed shrapnel all over, hitting police vehicles parked on an on ramp.

I don’t want to post the video because you can hear her voice and there are license plates of her neighbors cars visible. What’s most disturbing though is that they are in regular unmarked cars.

They are roaming around masked and in unmarked cars. Kinda familiar….

Let that sink in.
A news story that's intriguing and in which nobody's getting hurt... honestly, it's a nice break from the doom and gloom.
Apropos of nothing, Ocean's 8 (2018) is a delightful film with a stellar cast

So first off, we’re not calling it toilet time
“At toilet time, you sign in via a fingerprint sensor so that the device knows who's using the facilities. (Please wash your hands before signing out or tracking your progress.) Then, check in with the app for the day's analysis and trends over time.”

That is quite a pivot even for MAGA.

Blue Jays are part of the crow family, as my 5yo who is much more knowledgeable about the natural world than I am, recently informed me.

My bird knowledge is poor, I just like to draw them. Grateful to have a young naturalist at home.

The average amount of SNAP received is about $173. Which means you could fund nearly a million families for a month if we just didn't buy her two private jets to fly around and do racist pressers. Which by the way, seems excessive.
Do I understand this correctly? We're shelling out $172 million for two private jets for DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and other federal officials while no funds are available for SNAP (food stamp) recipients in November. Does that about cover it?
$172 million on private jets for Kristi Noem? Incredible.
Meanwhile, the Coast Guard is supposed to save lives and protect our coasts, but apparently it’s easier and far more important to fund her personal travel budget. Wasteful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

I would love an actual deep dive into what made these folks actually believe Trump would do what he said despite massive amounts of evidence to the contrary. Is it seriously just the propaganda working that well?

The No Kings March in Chicago is one of the largest gatherings I’ve seen here. Looking down from by the river, the crowd stretches for blocks down Michigan Ave and wraps around Wacker Dr. This video is from a few minutes ago and the end of the protest is nowhere in sight.

these are hard times, but at least we live in a world where two of the best actresses of their generation made a teen comedy about Watergate (yes I'm rewatching Dick)

My city, Chicago, is currently under invasion from masked, armed state-sanctioned thugs kidnapping people who seem usually to be entirely innocent-- sometimes, it feels like, at random.

A day in the life. This is a mile from me.
See, Trump & Co are itching for a fight, and would LOVE to see guerilla warfare so they have excuse to escalate violence.
If more violence is your goal, then so be it.

But I bet a lot of American folks like myself are tired of the violence we've already been witnessing.
