What gets me about this absurd Islamophobic criticism of Zohran Mamdani is how it inverts the traditional tropes of Muslims as outsiders, foreigners. Here, Mamdani is not being attacked for being too different from Christians and Jews, but for being too similar.

Tuberculosis has been circulating in ICE prisons for months. I wrote it back in August and there is no doubt in my mind that there are way more outbreaks than we're aware of. We have to get people out of these camps.

It’s gorgeous stuff! I see original pages from Klarion the Witch Boy that are far too cheap…

The Nation’s homepage today is dedicated entirely to Gaza and its people. Despite a so-called ceasefire, bombings continue, hunger persists, aid trickles, and hundreds of thousands live in threadbare tents.
Today, as Gaza continues to be stuck in a bloody limbo, we are turning our website over to Gaza and its people in an initiative we are calling “A Day for Gaza.” There will be no pieces published on our website today that do not come directly from Gaza.
A Day for Gaza
Today, The Nation is turning over its website exclusively to stories from Gaza and its people. This is why.

Shovel snow outside during subzero temperatures or go to solitary.

That’s the choice incarcerated folks in Missouri faced, while everyone in the free world was hunkered down.

Prisons never miss a chance to remind us that the cruelty is the point.

If Reform gets in power, its capacity to mass deport people of colour will have been facilitated by Labour’s xenophobic policies.

They would simply do what Labour is currently doing: redefine unsafe countries as safe and proceed accordingly.
