Testimony: "To the financial concerns about an eviction moratorium. If landlords are harmed financially in this moment, they should be looking to the federal government to end the circumstances that are causing them harm."

South Minneapolis, I just woke up with my eyes burning, from all the gas on the other side of town, so we need to be paying attention to this too
I was supposed to be in bed an hour ago but sending links and videos to people so they know to avoid the green gas (zinc chloride).

Once a lab steward, always a lab steward.

Seriously, I was a chemist twenty years ago, you do NOT want heavy metal toxicity. It fucks you up in weird ways.

There are people in Minnesota who are violating the law, and it's the people who are flash-banging babies, shooting people who pose no threat, and deploying tear gas against peaceful crowds.

The way to end the violence in Minnesota is for ICE to stop committing violence against Minnesotans.

I just want it to be really clear, to people from out of the area, if they see pictures of fires in Minneapolis: THEY WERE STARTED BY ICE. NOT BY PROTESTERS. NOT BY RESIDENTS.
So not only are they shooting our citizens they are setting the city on fire. #MFD did respond. Someone get an Air Quality check in #Minneapolis with the volume of Flash Bangs & Chemical Irritants.
🚨BREAKING: Multiple fires have broken after ICE unleashed ANOTHER ONSLAUGHT of flash bang grenades and chemical gas at unarmed Minneapolis protesters in WAR-LIKE attack. LIVE NOW ⬇️

Some folks, including me, have been working to clear sidewalks and blvd spots ahead of the big freeze this weekend to help reduce the slippery ice.

I'm wondering if DHS is trying to claim a snow shovel attack (???) or something else. Either way I don't buy it, ICE/DHS lies.

#AbolishICE
FWIW, it's been sunny and in the low 40's for DAYS in Minnesota. Not only has it not snowed in awhile, a lot of our snow is melted (see: 40's and sunny). So call me skeptical about anything related to shovels. Or anything DHS says -- they are proven, documented liars.

I want to add a "hear our stories" section to the stand with minnesota website. Don't include identifying details beyond your city. You can include photos.

I get my Twin Cities news from the Twin Cities indie news outlets and from the people doing legal observation of law enforcement and from people who volunteer to meet real needs here. We have incredible local reporting. Follow @sahanjournal.bsky.social @racketmn.com @taylordahlin.com @wedge.live
There is so little honest coverage. I'm finding I'm having to get news directly from anchors on the ground, because their stations will not publish.

I sincerely hope you aren't getting news from major step outlets, because the DOJ is filtering what they are allowed to say.

No major outlet is
There is so much honest coverage of real news as we live it.

There is no need to spread BS.

It is more effective to share the truth and keep credibility.

I am angry too. I am angry at the same people you are.

Telling the truth about the things they say and do is the best way to win the public.

If you weren't boycotting Target already, now is absolutely the time to start.
From a good friend in Minneapolis: "Target is allowing ICE to stage in their parking lots, use their restrooms, and abduct people from inside their stores - so if you weren’t boycotting already, now is the time." They were staging in Chicago as well.

Elevators are incredibly useful, but a lot of our smaller apartments don't have them. This is because North American elevators are about 3x as expensive as they are elsewhere. This vid goes into why that is.
The United States has the fewest elevators in the rich world, with Canada only a bit ahead. We teamed up with @uytaelee.bsky.social of About Here Videos to investigate why, exactly, North America sucks at elevators.
