Apple & Google removed ICE tracking apps in their app stores.

TikTok reportedly suppressed videos criticizing ICE & the shooting of Alex Pretti.

Meta blocked Facebook groups tracking ICE & links to a database of agents that the government wants to keep secret.

Big Tech is enabling Trump's regime.

This matches exactly with what I have heard from people in Dilley.
The mother of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos, who is detained with the father in an ICE Texas facility, says the boy "is getting sick because the food they receive is not of good quality. He has stomach pain, he’s vomiting, he has a fever and he no longer wants to eat.”

ICE illegally detaining, moving Minnesota children to Texas faster than courts can respond
ICE is pulling Minnesota immigrant families with legal status out of their driveways, homes and school commutes and sending them to Texas within hours — in at least two cases against a judge’s order. ...

The people who were in charge when this started cannot be the ones to end it. Practically, that's ridiculous. Of course they can't.
The alternative to Trump cannot be the likes of Newsom, Macron or the EU as it has existed

They represent the very politics that have enabled the rise of the far right and the resurgence of authoritarianism

The naivety of some of the coverage and analysis is expected but no less depressing

We ran a progressive slate for the Akademikerpension board elections 10 years ago (and won), because we wanted fossil fuel divestment. I don’t think we ever imagined we might one day help trigger a margin call on U.S. Treasuries.
Well well well. The Danes are weaponising firesales.

I'm proud to say I've got a bit of money saved away in this fund. Dumping $100 Million in US Treasuries isn't a whole lot in the grand scheme of things, but it's symbolically important and if others follow it can be the start of a very serious dynamic
🚨BREAKING: Danish pension fund AkademikerPension announces it is exiting US Treasuries.

US yields spike upwards AGAIN.

This could be happening.

You can't understand fascism in the US without reference to the country's crisis of social reproduction. Trump offered the imaginary solutions of deportations, tariffs, and conquest. And Bernie was undermined for offering real solutions like free healthcare and education.

The US is engaged in economic warfare against the EU and threatening military action to take over the territory of a member state. And Trump couldn't care less about NATO.

Yet somehow the EU's foreign affairs sec talks about threats from Russia & China and NATO as a solution? Deluded.
China and Russia must be having a field day. They are the ones who benefit from divisions among Allies.

If Greenland’s security is at risk, we can address this inside NATO.

Tariffs risk making Europe and the United States poorer and undermine our shared prosperity. (1/2)

Minnesotans are a tricky people.
People in Minnesota are now using their key fobs to trigger their car alarms from the safety of their homes when they see ICE walking around.

ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

🧵 Trump administration AI policy is widely described as deregulatory. This description is misleading. What's happening is not the absence of governance but its rearrangement--intensive state intervention operating through mechanisms we don't typically call regulation. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
The mirage of AI deregulation
One of the most interventionist approaches to technology governance in the United States in a generation has cloaked itself in the language of deregulation. In early December 2025, President Donald Tr...

Of course records like this will keep breaking as the steady march to 2ºC and more continues.

What a way to start 2026.
