I can't tell you how glad I am to see that the sentiment around AI has clearly turned against it. A long time ago I felt like the only viable hope for pushback here is a cultural one, and it's actually happening, it's working ❤️
Left is what it originally said, right is what it says now

the 30/70 ratio of lateral support for fascism among americans remains pretty consistent, and each poll that corroborates that figure reaffirms that There Are More Of Us Than There Are Of Them; plenty of reason to hope and fight on
across multiple polls they seem to be stabilizing around 30% on support for ICE-as-occupying-army and ICE-as-licensed-murderers

that is both far too high and also catastrophically low for them given how close this country is to 50/50 politically - we're talking crazification factor levels
New CNN polling:

Most Americans see an immigration officer’s fatal shooting of Renee Good as an inappropriate use of force. Roughly half view it as a sign of broader issues with the way ICE is operating, w/under 1/3 saying that ICE operations have made cities safer.

The only good thing about ICE Is that future video games/movies will have new bad guy characters we can kill en masse without guilt.

"During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night.

The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for."
I'm gonna say this with all the kindness in my heart: you aren't going to survive if you don't let your life have room for other things.

This is not a short term fight where we can just go 24/7 and then it will be over. We've got YEARS ahead of us. Take a break. Hydrate. Go bake something. Breathe.

This good-natured, 34-year-old, Muslim, immigrant man—who the Times bemoaned was too young and radical to “get anything done”—has accomplished more good governance in a *week* on the job than most liberal politicians accomplish in their whole careers. With a smile & a joyful heart. A blessing.

the thing I really like about this is that they specifically disallow impersonation, which is a much better and more moderate-able criteria than "IP infringement". I think to manage this stuff effectively you have to go off of "what is this trying to do?"

This isn't just a casual observation. Fascism scholars have long made this point. It's why calling them "weird" was a more effective strategy than talking about the prices of eggs. Fascism is an aesthetic political movement - you need to make people feel embarassed and horrified by it.
one of the most effective weapons we have against fascism is mockery, especially when its really funny
It occurs to me all the yelling at ICE in MPLS isn't merely funny. Getting made fun of like this is awful for morale. ICE is losing field officers faster than it can wave them through training, and a big part of it is how little of this these little weasels can take.
