Just want to point out, while everyone's being horrified, that this is a fairly normal email you'd see in the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department
Hours after Border Patrol agent Charles Exum shot Marimar Martinez five times, Gregory Bovino emailed him to ask he continue working past retirement:

"In light of your excellent service in Chicago, you have much yet left to do!!" he wrote.

“Four of my children just evaporated,” Badran said, holding back tears. “I looked for them a million times. Not a piece was left. Where did they go?”

There are no words to adequately describe the evil here.
Israel used weapons in Gaza that made thousands of Palestinians evaporate
US-made thermal weapons burning at 3,500C caused 2,842 people to "evaporate" in Gaza, Al Jazeera investigation finds.

Roses are red, Violets are blue, let’s abolish ICE and police unions too! 🔥 Angelenos know how to take care of each other, just like we have been since June, just like we will continue to until ICE is abolished.

Using a wife beater and convicted rapist to sell weird MAHA dietary theories is so on brand for this administration.
You might remember the superbowl MAHA ad featuring Mike Tyson. Go to the page, which clearly labeled as a US government website, and you are encouraged to use Grok.

The Wall Street Journal just illustrated the core argument of my book: a system rigged to reward capital over labor is one in which even full-time work no longer secures the most basic material needs.

This is the economic order that produces the "working homeless."

Since we're re-litigating Ring's sins: How did they grow so fast?

Until 2016, Ring gave out free/discounted cameras to police & giving cops perks if the public (including victims of crimes) used the officer's discount code to buy cameras--all of which meant Ring essentially made cops salespeople.

To repeat.

--

And to repeat:

The political faction saying we must all have to log legal ID before speaking or accessing speech on the Internet,

and the political faction who believe transgenderism is a dangerous mental contagion that spreads by speech about transgenderism,

are the same faction.
Age verification is deanonymization,
Deanonymization is censorship.

The Supreme Court is now taking away your right to anonymously *read* a form of speech. If speaking can mean that your readers have to subject themselves to potential consequences to read it, how can there be freedom of speech?
NEW: In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court held that age verification for explicit sites is constitutional. The majority said it protects minors without violating free speech; dissenters warned it burdens adults’ rights and ignores First Amendment precedent.

They're building concentration camps with my tax money Chuck. They're torturing children. They're murdering innocent people on the street. What are you doing.
Our DHS reform demands are exceedingly reasonable.

We're asking ICE to do nothing more than follow the standards that the vast majority of law enforcement agencies already follow.

Republicans, the ball is in your court. The clock is ticking.

ICE is currently holding around 80,000 detainees. Nazi Germany didn't reach this number in its formal camp system until 1942, nine years after seizing power and three years into the war.

This is the definitive point by Chris Hedges, re: Noam Chomsky and Epstein. Chomsky's entire value as a public intellectual is to know what people like Epstein are up to and why. Him feigning ignorance is absurd, and if it were true it would undermine the rest of his career.

There’s a great bit in Adam Curtis’ latest doc where he shows an elderly woman in the Tatcher era, shut in and alone in her house, who is utterly obsessed with the new CCTV cameras she just installed.

We’ve all become that woman.
why do you need to observe your house if you're not in it. you are giving yourself an opt-in mental illness. no one has to live like this

For years, when conservatives see things they don't like on TV, they have told themselves that this is New York and Hollywood pushing the "liberal agenda." So seeing Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl alongside military jet flyovers and ads for dystopic ai is very frustrating for them

The thing I love so much about metal is that I’ll listen to a band, fall in love with the music purely based on the feeling without understanding the lyrics, buy the vinyl and finally read the lyrics and they’re usually really poetic and beautiful. Sunrot have great lyrics!
Sunrot are dear friends from Jersey who definitely perform in English but I couldn’t tell you a single thing they say on this jawn, and bless ‘em for that sunrot.bandcamp.com/album/passages

It’s funny because to me the two movies of this decade are from 2019, Parasite and Uncut Gems. Parasite is about the inequality that’s become impossible to justify. And Gems is the best movie about how insane it is to be ensnared with a shameless gambling addict, whether it’s Howie or Trump
What 2020s movie has the greatest cultural footprint?

Note: This is not necessarily about box office, Oscars, critical acclaim, though all of those can count. It's more... pieces of it have so completely permeated our cultural groundwater that it will always be there.
