Bellevue CM Conrad Lee, who has been in office since 1994, wants to convey that all modes of transportation are good, but that Bellevue can't have everything. "Driving is good!," he says.

This is such strong man language it's giving me Trump PTSD. More men need to go to therapy.

Harrell is pontificating about how he never punches down.

That has literally been his ONLY m.o. at every single debate with Katie Wilson, his frontrunning opponent.

Without getting into Burien's long history of policies that harm homeless residents, it's telling that every single city thinks they're doing more than their share and that the homeless people in their city are from "somewhere else." Everyone is doing too much and homeless people are from nowhere

Can I just say that @seattledot.bsky.social sets a standard for government transparency by posting their entire 51-page org chart on the web? Other departments need to follow their lead.

This cartoon is from Oct 2022. These two clowns are now begging the president to invade the city they've based their careers on slandering (neither of them actually live here). What a world.

As a Mariners fan, it has always boggled my mind to see so many fans coming down from Vancouver to root for the Toronto Blue Jays...

So, Vancouver baseball fans. We have to talk. Are you really gonna root for the team thousands of miles to the east, or the one that has a salmon and a moose for mascots? #Cascadia #goms

Also, hey, if you're out in the world or the Internet trying to find special Mariners stuff to celebrate, could you let me know if you see some of the things stolen from my storage unit?

"So this is very disturbing, and as mayor, I will absolutely be working with SPD to make sure that they are allowing the CARE Team their full latitude of response, and also to make sure that the CARE Team can respond without police when appropriate, so that our police can focus on policing. "

As always, I wonder if the Times editorial board reads their own paper. I also wonder if Harrell read the story his opponent Katie Wilson cited very explicitly in making that remark, and just chose to ignore it because it's much easier to imply that his opponent is just an airheaded woman.

Harrell's response was a condescending, dismissive remark that Wilson didn't understand that the police have a contract, suggesting she is so stupid she doesn't know the first thing about anything. The Times, loving that narrative, parroted it today. www.seattletimes.com/opinion/edit...
Harrell's One Seattle may be just what the city needs | Editorial
Mayor Bruce Harrell has made consensus-building a hallmark of his administration. "One Seattle" can be frustrating, but it produces results.

Some messages are printed on 18-by-24-inch yard signs or smaller placards; others are drawn ornately by hand on paper or written in chalk. The few who will talk about the signs they created say the urgency of the moment compelled them to act.
