Calling it dehumanizing for the media to say trans people standing up for ourselves with legal recourse makes us "activists" doesn't quite cover the insidiousness of this rhetorical trick.

I've been sober for 20 years (21 coming up in January). Every now and then I think "urh, why did I get sober". Occasionally I get given a drug during medical procedures which is necessary, but my gods is it a reminder why I quit doing this shit to myself.

When the next truscum/transmed rebranding happens and they claim "we were never mean to nonbinary people/we never claimed nonbinary people weren't trans/we never talked shit about people who don't/can't transition/etc".
Just to show you the sort of stuff I deal with from transmedicalists, and what sort of people they are, here is one that came after me today.
