📕 #BookReview

What did prehistoric people think about their past? Can #archaeology reveal 'historical culture' in societies without written literature? @profbernard.bsky.social's 'Historical culture in Iron Age Italy' breaks new ground on these questions 1/2

Ever wondered where all the Cheers title photos are from? I did. And I've gathered everything I can find into this post. That was fun.

I’d name at least one, but I tend to hate them because they are ear worms so I can’t even let myself think about them or they start playing on repeat in my brain…

We’re BACK BABY.

At Bad Art for Good, we’re gonna get together and make some art to make things better.

How can art make things better? Creating makes us feel good! Art moves people! And we need a LOT of people to move right now!

I literally just turned in a round of edits to my editor at Bloomsbury for my book about the founding of JPL and the Suicide Squad, and this is painful to see.

JPL has been responsible for some of our most incredible achievements in science, and this is going to set us back.

Looks like it’s time for my kitchen window to be festooned with green ones on the vine then :)

And the banana bowl to be helping ripen any loose ones.

Spotify platforms Joe Rogan and other right wing manosphere accounts.

They barely pay the artists.

There are plenty of reasons to boycott them.

Now they’re allowing ICE recruitment ads in their “commercials”.

They’ve bent a knee, and we should all cancel.

Spotify is now running recruitment ads for ICE.

It’s time to cancel your account.

🌍 Carbon offsets largely fail to cut emissions

A 25-year review found most carbon offset schemes do not reduce global heating, with systemic flaws like double counting and temporary projects undermining real progress.
