If you're so concerned about our situation, then you can probably understand why we devote so much emotion to defending the ACA, though we know it to be inadequate. We are literally dying here.

But a New York Times writer can't understand that, somehow?
Yeah!

So we need to defend what's left of our democracy, and then get the Voting Rights Act back in full force.

That's going to take a while--certainly to the end of the current presidential term and a bit.

And the ACA's under attack now.

So we have to defend it, to keep people alive.
Getting bullies to show weakness is a good tactic.
Well, Trump did react. He posted that AI vid with the shitting fighter jet. That means something, doesn't it?
Preventing that outcome seems worth indulging some overwrought rhetoric, really.

I'll certainly redirect my efforts if I see the end of this, the ACA's secure, and there's opportunity to make something better.

That is not the current situation.
I don't know precisely who you mean by "institutionalists". It's possible there are some people who practice politics by allocating their emotions as you describe.

I don't care, because the ACA's under attack, and if it falls, people die. Trump's not gonna sign an EO for universal healthcare.
If I could push a button and make socialism happen overnight, I would! It seems like we have to defeat the current admin and then extirpate the Republican party first. That will be much more difficult if millions of people die or get permanently disabled, with no healthcare, so let's defend the ACA.
Yeah, because the OP is about the thread and not your question. Like the first two words of OP say, "This thread". So, I took the rest of the words in the OP to be about the thread as a whole, and not one rhetorical question, as well.

Bluesky doesn't have a way to embed whole threads in posts!
idk, I had to click through to find out what you were being ignorant about, and to whom. So, if you mean that the OP was presenting your question, about whether Christians should do things forbidden by Torah, as a genuine one... no, I don't see any evidence of that at all.
I picked the stodgiest possible videogame genre to specialize in--Forrester's Urban Dynamics wasn't art *or* a game--because all the layers of indirection, what did they mean by this, what does it represent, how did I react and why...are *annoying*. Implementing your views in software is direct.
The post you're replying to says, "This thread"

Video games are art as long as I'm credited on them. You can make your video game art for shockingly little money. My DMs are open
until i see the survey i'm assuming this is a lie, told as a marketing stunt, and it's working
Or, since it's spooky season, myhouse.wad, which is a Doom mod that, to this day, is only available in somebody's Google Drive linked from DoomWorld www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/...

Proposing marriage to someone in front of a crowd is coercion and a “yes” is not freely given consent.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
