Thinking about whoever said that by accepting a meal from people and then arresting them ICE agents broke a cultural taboo that was invented by, like, the first humans to set up a tent

It’s the 1990s. I’m trying to explain many abuses we see at Ruby Ridge and Waco reflect entrenched practices of law enforcement.

It’s the 2000s. I’m trying to explain many abuses we see under the PATRIOT ACT reflect entrenched practices of American law enforcement.

It’s 2025. Guess the fuck what.

I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio.

Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.

Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.

I saw a critique of Springsteen's new song, it being too earnest and cringe, and if I could just take a second to introduce you to the entire Bruce Springsteen catalogue we could settle this in a heartbeat.

I also assume that "I want a new butt" is always read to the melody of the Huey Lewis tune.
horrified to learn that eight-year-olds might have heard the word “butt” for the first time
The Hinds County School District terminated Toby Price two days after he read the children's book "I Need a New Butt!" to a group of students, stating that he “had not acted professionally” when he read the book to impressionable second graders.

I'm a resident of the Twin Cities. A small team and I spent 3 days sculpting this for a competition/festival in extremely cold temperatures. We were disqualified for political messaging and one of the organizers defaced it. I have no regrets and I have never been more proud to be Minnesotan. (cont)

My kids were enormous fans, we read the books together, saw the movies together, even had Harry Potter themed birthday parties.

This all came to a full stop when JKR came out as a transphobic bigot.

It’s not liberalism, you asshats.
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

Younger generations “have fallen out of love with Harry Potter because they have fallen out of love with the worldview the series represents,” writes Louise Perry. “Which is to say that young people have fallen out of love with liberalism.”
Opinion | Why Gen Z Doesn’t Love ‘Harry Potter’
The wizarding worldview is naïve.

Dems should introduce legislation now defunding ICE and CBP operations in Minnesota, so they have to leave the state. One sentence bill. Demand an immediate vote. Maybe refuse to vote for cloture on any funding bills (or other bills) until a vote. Make the GOP Congress break w/ Trump or own it all.
