It’s bad enough that the Science Center just disappeared this program but they are essentially lying to the public about its status (a program isn’t paused if you fire all the staff and dismiss all the participants). The horrible communication and behavior here is unacceptable. Bleak AF.

As someone who has spent my whole life in the Midwest, this times 1000. There is no working with or rationalizing with or compromising with this level of purposeful ignorance.
If there's one thing that coastal elites don't understand about racist rural midwesterners, it's how proud they are of their ignorance. They think it's a virtue to be as stupid as possible. You actually don't look down on them enough. You should be more rude and condescending to them.

Just want to stress that this was a woman who was simply trying to get to a doctor's appointment.
We are so far past the Rubicon that it isn't worth having a discussion anymore as to whether Trump is acting as an authoritarian. The only question is whether we have the strength and courage to get back to the other side.
