I got a new credit card in the mail this week, it's a new thick one that feels nice in my hand. This is my day-to-day main card. I put it in my phone case wallet and it stops my phone from charging wirelessly. I guess I'm only using my digital wallet and this card is going in a drawer.
i think it's useful to look at areas where the *tech* has gotten much better while tech *interactions* have gotten way worse. streaming has gotten worse, google search has gotten worse, digital cameras are leaps better. apple's silicone is so good it's threatening their user upgrade cycle

Yeah all the theatrics about "being a good mother" made a little more sense 100 years ago when "whether or not you were constantly boiling things" made the difference between 3 of of your 9 kids dying in infancy, or 7 of them
I’d wondered a bit about why my dad had drunk unpasteurized milk that has led him 80+ years later to still flag as TB positive because the milk exposed him to bovine TB, because they knew about pasteurization by the 30s. Except my grandmother didn’t have a maternal bone in her body, so this tracks.
