Los Campesinos! have a lot of long song titles, but my favorite song of theirs that just barely makes the cutoff is "We are beautiful, we are doomed".
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

Oof the anxiety is really spun up to high this morning in a way it hasn't been for a while. Hope it passes soon.

Even the Cato Institute says that immigration is good for the U.S.
The US immigrant population generated more in taxes than they received in benefits from all levels of government every year from 1994 to 2023.

The Cato study provides the first-ever 30-year analysis of the fiscal effects of immigration on government budgets.

Again they have not de-escalated shit in Minnesota. They continue to go after observers and taunt responders.
happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.

I followed this advice today and it was 100% correct.
Sick people of MN: do yourself a solid and get the hot and spicy lemongrass pho from Pho Hoa. I swear I could feel my health meter going up

Body cameras are actually not necessary at all because if there are no ice agents we stop needing them. Abolition, not reform, is the only answer
Body cameras are a necessary but insufficient step.
We aren’t lacking videos of the two murders. We are lacking accountability.

Apologies to the random people who just happen to drive a domestic suv who've received a staredown from me at the bus stop, but I'm also not sorry and will continue doing it as long as these assholes are around (half of yall deserve dirty looks for your aggressive driving around pedestrians anyway)
Today in Minnesota federal agents stationed themselves in dark SUVs along school bus routes during afternoon dropoff so they might have the opportunity to abduct and deport children and their parents
Just so everyone is clear, Minnesota is still very much under siege by the federal government and their gestapo. My son's school had to lockdown today after threatening messages were sent to the school office. It's all absolutely fucked and there appears to be no end in sight.

This is how Tom Homan reacts to losing a court case to free a medically fragile 5-year-old who was used as bait to lure his dad so they could be imprisoned in a measles factory. Fuck any de-escalation stories that come out.
Columbia Heights (Liam's school district) cancelled school today because of a credible bomb threat at Liam's elementary and multiple ICE vehicles parking in the high school staff parking lot at 6:15am.

For my non-MN friends just getting to know us now because *gestures broadly,* one of the (many) things we're really good at is making the most out of things, even shitty things. Winter is brutal, sure, but we don't hide from it. We make it fun, make it beautiful, and enjoy it together.
art shanties. so odd and so delightful and so minneapolis.

there has been no de-escalation.
This morning, federal agents staged at the Powderhorn Park Recreation Center lot and began to throw chemical irritants at observers. They also kidnapped an observer. Our parks are meant for our children, youth, and neighbors. They should never be militarized zones meant to separate families. 1/
