It's funny because I decided that my current phone (Motorola Edge) will be the last one I buy brand new. There's literally nothing in it for me to have anything better, and if I change it'll only be because I can't take calls anymore.

It's not "device hoarding", it's knowing your needs.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

If you have 8 tasks that each require 100% of your attention, all you have to do is figure out how to have 800% total attention. Easy peasy.
If everything is a top priority, then everything gets done quickly. That's basic management

The cool thing about growing old is figuring yourself out. I've said for a long time that I can't be passionate about work, but obv that'll happen when you subconsciously believe your passion can't be a job.

I've been browsing WWI and being actually excited about jobs for the first time in forever.

Welp, that makes me want to play it even more. I'm glad it's coming out elsewhere at least.

Valve, that was one hell of a dick move...
Our upcoming game HORSES was preemptively banned from Steam, with no path to appeal. The game will still launch next week on December 2nd and will be available on EGS, GOG, Humble, and Itch for $4.99. Here is a detailed FAQ covering what happened: horses.wtf/BannedFromSt...

Aside from the obvious fact that nostalgia is often just a desire to be a kid again regardless of the medium, I feel that, as gaming became more lucrative and corpos took the stage, it became harder for the good, genuine stuff to break through.

There's still good games; they're mostly indies.

I am permanently obsessed with this song
it will never leave my head. The cool furry designs on background characters! The relentless synthwave beat!! The inclusion of the guitar right at the musical climax!! The MELODRAMA!!

I don't know why but I'm starting to get personally pinged by fake Palestinians asking for cash. This is the worst scam ever, you have to be a very special kind of monster to profit off of that... and they're doubling down.

That's why I donate to official organizations and not randos online.

I started working on my own handmade C64 controller last summer and then life got in the way 🫠

Anyway, I've had time to improve on my initial design. It'll happen soon enough. Gotta get myself a decent soldering iron first tho.
The joystick port for the Atari 2600 uses a standard DB9 connector, and became the de facto standard for the Commodore Vic-20 and 64, and the Sega Genesis with slight modifications. Due to its simplicity, you can easily make your own for cheap using basic push buttons and a DB9 cable.

Many might say that yes, you don't need to know everything about an ip to enjoy it, but that kind of attitude tells me the author doesn't even take their own ip seriously, and that makes me want to not care either.

If you see it the way you look at newspaper comics, then it's just as disposable.
I don’t know if it only makes sense without the periphery stuff, but Nier has books, stage plays, etc. I once asked Taro about this and how are English fans supposed to keep up and he looked confused and asked “Why would you need to keep up? Who needs all of that?”
After "film trilogy that dropped a critical plot point exclusively via timed Fortnite event" and "video game series whose story only makes sense if you're aware of the events of a canon pachinko machine", I feel like there are whole frontiers of user-hostile narrative design waiting to be explored.

Honestly, the PS5 is already between 400 and 800 depending if you get a "pro" or not, so why are people surprised? I thought game consoles already costed as much as a low to mid-range gaming pc?

To be fair I haven't bought a game console in years and it's always been Nintendo, so idk.
Steam Machine price will not be subsidized and 'more in line with what you might expect from current PC market', says Valve

The best thing ever to survive online is nihilism. Just say what you have to say and let people think what they want to think. The end.

As Carl said it best; It don't matter. None of this matters.
How do I remain chill on social media?

A big thing is, don't namesearch. If someone snitch tags you over someone else saying something about you, YOU DIDN'T SEE IT! Don't have any extension that tells you if people block you, you don't need to know. I assume people block me because I'm annoying.

Can anyone recommend a good classic web hosting service that doesn't go all-in with the ai craze? Webhostmost is starting to get on my nerves and I really don't need more than basic php and sql.

Preferably in Canada too.

After years of believing I'd be obese for the rest of my life, and then getting sick of it and putting in the efforts to turn my life around, it finally happened today; my BMI is now below 30.

I actually beat obesity. 🥹

And it's only the beginning!!
