I don't know, Aaron. I think we need to take this seriously. In fact, after surveying hundreds of years of history in the past few days, I've written an article assessing the originalist case here:

The Trump admin is executing the biggest union busting campaign in US history—currently by taking away the TSA’s collective bargaining rights. MAGA thinks Trump is pro-worker. Share this so everyone knows the truth!

Remember—vote for folks who don’t just SAY they support workers, but actually do.

When the small team at @lataco.bsky.social saw fed raids hit the food vendor community in Los Angeles this summer, they dramatically and immediately changed their coverage, and in the process created the excellent Daily Memo roundup, the gold-standard for this type of reporting. Thank you so much.

Small-scale, fiercely independent journalism rarely gets recognition when awards are handed out, but it's vital in our communities—especially this year. So I made an award and am thrilled to announce @unraveledpress.com and @lataco.bsky.social as the inaugural winners. dansinker.com/posts/2025-1...

This is honestly so cool and nice. We are gobsmacked by all the community support we've received this year.

Thank you @dansinker.com!
Raven and Steve, the two person shop behind @unraveledpress.com literally got shot at and arrested for covering the ICE and US Border Patrol onslaught on Chicago. It did not slow down their efforts to expose the abuses of the feds and stand up for communities across Chicago. Thank you for the work.

people spend a lot of time fretting about digital security, but this is where most things start. the surveillance state is vast, complex, technologically advanced, and very scary... but more often than not, before they even try sifting through cell site location data or whatever, somebody talked.

Obviously, there are times when someone needs to start things rolling. But even then, there are often already community orgs doing similar work that you can team up with. No matter what the problem, if it's too big for one person, look for the helpers, and see how you can combine forces.

Ban "A.i."
Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

I know it and I feel it and still, this stat blows my mind: Childcare is unaffordable for 80% of New Yorkers. www.thecut.com/article/dayc...
Can Anyone Afford a Job Around Here?
Since the pandemic, the cost of child-care centers in New York has risen twice as much as inflation and is four times the median family income.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

Even if you *could* "fix" the nazi platform — WHY WOULD YOU BUILD ECONOMIC VALUE FOR A WHITE SUPREMACIST. I swear people are goddamn fools. "Tell your progressive friends to go buy a Tesla so that other Tesla drivers might like us better?" Money is power. Don't give Musk power. Read a goddamn book.
You can’t “fix” X, The Everything App by going back and posting there because the owner has this thumb on the scale of the algorithm to promote the worst ideas and people. It’s not a viable solution, you have to let it go.

Hot take: every elected official & every judge should have to meet with everyday constituents for two (2) hours every week. Just whoever signs up, decided by lottery. And each constituent gets a full 5 minutes. The official has to sit there and listen - absolutely not allowed to leave the room.

The last time I called Gillibrand's office they told me (AGAIN) they were trying to get her to do town halls with constituents.

When I suggested she might never get my vote, they told me they understand and to vote my conscience.

It's kind of haunting me.
