BREAKING Greg Bovino has been removed as Border Patrol "commander at large" and will return to El Centro Calif, where he is expected to retire soon. A stunning turnaround after Pretti killing. Bovino's traveling blue city crackdown is over www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

ICE is still here. Bovino is just a sad little man. Removing him from the board changes nothing.

(it’s pretty funny, tho)
They are still threatening to shoot folks like they did to Renee and Alex.

The hardest part of all this is that we, the immigrant, the queer, the non-white, the disabled, the injured and the dead, will have to be the bigger person. It's hard, and it sucks after they so gleefully burned bridged behind them, flipping us all off as they fanned the flames.
Ok holy shit.

I have to check facebook for my work account which means I see the Other Side on occasion.

I’m seeing defections all over the place.

AND HERES THE MOST DIFFICULT PART!!

we have to embrace them. If they’re rejected after being brave in their small town? They’ll go right back.

Is it any surprise? The law and order Mayor (his 2024 reelection strategy) really, really loves landowners.
We need an EVICTION MORATORIUM NOW.

Our neighbors risk being separated from their families when they go to work. They also run the risk of being displaced if they don’t.

Sadly, Mayor Frey refused to sign the resolution calling on the Governor to enact this moratorium.

I’m furious that Mayor Frey chose to NOT SIGN a unanimous resolution from the City Council to urge Governor Walz to enact an eviction moratorium. Receipt: lims.minneapolismn.gov/Download/Met...

Please, I’m begging you, join me in calling on @governorwalz.mn.gov to enact an eviction moratorium now.

People are right to be incensed, but there are more names to uplift. ICE killed an immigrant man named Silverio Villegas González in Chicagoland. He had children. Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped in Minneapolis and died in ICE custody on January 14. Their names deserve to be repeated, too.

Need I remind you that Walz was national guard and this is PR. Glad they weren't shooting Minnesotans today, but...
Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

among many of the incredible things minnesota has given to the world, MST3K is absolutely near the top of the list
Have never been to Minnesota in my life but I grew up with MST3K playing on a loop on my computer and that does a weird thing to your brain where you’re like “why do I know what Menards is?”

I love how "Professional Grade Logistics" is some soccer mom doing a costco run to get the big box of hand warmers.
I mostly just stay off Twitter altogether but after double checking that the Walter Hudson post was still up I ran across this and just had to share so the Romancelandians who bought hand warmers could hear about the PROFESSIONAL GRADE LOGISTICS.

If they wanted this to end they could leverage their capital to do so. They don’t actually want the ICE operations that are widely unsupported to stop. They’ll still let ICE stage in their lots, let Bovino terrorize customers, and let their employees get attacked by ICE on the job.
INBOX: 60+ CEOs of Minnesota-based company call for "an immediate deescalation of tensions and for state, local and federal officials to work together to find real solutions."

No mention of ICE in the letter.

If you're not from Minnesota this may seem like a solidly-worded firm "no."

But you may not realise how MUCH of a no... this is actually the Minnesotan equivalent of yelling "EAT ME" and mooning all the agents.

Politely.

When The Verge -- generally a fluffy tech fashion site -- starts talking about it this way...
"Why is it so normal for law enforcement — those who are supposed to be keepers of law and order — to kill Americans? And why is the only question at the end of the day how much their victims deserved to die?"

ICE killing #AlexPretti should remind you of police killing #PhilandoCastille. Both men had concealed weapon permits, did not draw their guns, & were killed in Minn. These homicides are the price of unaccountable policing. These deaths are variations on the same fatal theme.
