No actually Democrats (voters) want to abolish ICE. It’s only fascist dipshit Democrat “representatives” who refuse to enact the will of their constituents and make a mockery of governance on immigration, on Gaza, on M4A
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

Our office has clients whose injuries were so severe that their treatment dramatically exceeded the $50k no fault limit, and were forced to go into medical debt to treat themselves.

As @kevinduggan.bsky.social points out, had that amount tracked inflation, it'd now be $329k.

I wonder if there’s good resources for protest beginners about how to tell the difference between higher and lower risk protests.

If you’ve been doing it for a long time you can just kinda feel it out, but for those who haven’t….
I think people think all protests have the same risks, and they don't. I saw something here or on tiktok about high-risk vs low risk protests and mostly I've only been to low risk protests, and those can be fun! The high risk ones though...point is they are both important.

Right now, Democrats have the power to defund and abolish ICE. We should do it. This is about right and wrong—and the murder we are seeing on the streets is just plain wrong. Anyone who supports funding DHS and ICE is supporting the murder of Americans. We can stop this.

Miep Gies, who helped hide the Franks, repeatedly said she did not want to be viewed as a hero because she did what she expected any normal person to do.
The reason Anne Frank's story has resonated with so many people over so many years is not because circumstances have to be exactly the same as her's for anyone to care, but because anything remotely like it is wrong, and societies moving in that direction should oppose it well before they get there.

Wow, the White House is so shaken by the turn in the public mood that they thought Chuck Schumer might actually rise up and "seize this moment" to get meaningful concessions.

That's how panicked they are. They thought Chuck Schumer would do something.
