Thats honestly a big part of what bugs me about Savannah. Its overloaded w/ unmarked Indigenous & slave graves that were built over. And not just them but whole communities: black, poor white & Indigenous combined. I guess this gravesite was left alone b/c of prominent rich white ppl buried here
Not that it will make you feel better, but most of Savannah is built on graves. There was a time they just moved the headstones and left the graves to build new buildings. Also Native American burial sites and all that 😅 I have a friend that works for historical ghost tour company there.
