I don't have a friend who feels at ease
I don't know a dream that's not been shattered

Typically when the US embarks on an illegal or dubiously legal regime change we use noble words about democracy, rule of law, spreading freedom, etc. to justify our actions. Trump has not done that. He offers few noble words as eulogistic covering. It's a crass power & oil grab, according to Trump.

Wrote this before yesterday but it gets at what undergirds that (and lots of other things in politics).

"The internet universalized subjectivity instead of objectivity. … We have reverted from acting on what we *know* to acting on what we *think*."
Opinion | How the internet fractured the information ago — and drove down regard for actual facts and education

Thinking of the old lawyer adage: If the law is on your side, pound the law. If the facts are on your side, pound the facts. If you have neither law nor facts on your side, pound the table.

Lots of table pounding here.

When you come into the mentions of others trying to actively participate in their democracy, who are trying to encourage others to do the same, and tell them their efforts are worthless, you're a saboteur.

Pure and simple. Ask yourself why you want to do this, if you really oppose Trump.

"If this is what Bari and Tony’s CBS Evening News is going to look like, then the we may as well just call ourselves Trump Administration State TV. Pathetic."
