To clarify: When the puberty blocker ban came in, it was stated that young people ALREADY on blockers under NHS treatment would be allowed to CONTINUE getting them.

These are some of those young people.

The NHS is now BREACHING the blocker ban ruling!!! 😠😤
The NHS are forcibly detransitioning trans kids in Brighton and calling it “managed withdrawal.” Their own impact assessment acknowledges trans kids will be at increased risk of harm as a result, don’t want this, and are likely to just use DIY hormones instead

Transmisogyny is just this bizarre clusterfuck where people treat you like a woman, in that they talk over you, call you overly emotional, sexualise you, judge you harshly on how well you embody femininity, disbelieve you when you say you've been mistreated, all the while insisting that you're a man

It's important to note that the Polari Prize is not an automatic submission situation. You have to ASK to be considered.

I doubt many authors will be asking next year. Even if they don't support trans rights, the reputational damage and stress if something like this happens again is enough.

Queer writers are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with their Trans+ family, friends, and colleagues - and against the creeping normalisation of transphobia.

When figures like John Boyne use their platform to legitimise their transphobic rhetoric, they doesn’t just negatively impact Trans+ people

I was in a shop earlier and an assistant, wearing terf colours, asked if she could help. When I declined she took a shit in my shopping bag.

This is totally true. Don't ask any follow ups, just put it in the paper.

This is not caused primarily by "screen time".

It's been caused by the mass eradication of third places for young people in basically every city over the past three decades - and a society that's hostile to the concept of teens socialising in public spaces.

Our statement on the actions at Wes Streeting's office last night.

We refuse to sit and watch as trans young people have their healthcare stripped from them. We refuse to allow Streeting to cover up their suicides. We refuse to endure the violence and humiliation. They will have to go through us.

The grotesque sight of a Labour Chancellor protecting actual fraudsters from the consequences of their acts, rather than supporting the millions of people defrauded. Turns out capitalism - however badly it acts - is more important to Labour than the population it supposedly acts for.

Most of the internet used to be like this. This is actually the default, it took companies enclosing the internet and adding weird, soul-killing incentives to make people behave the way they do now. In a way, there is truly nothing special about Wikipedia except that it survived longer.
“Wikipedia is this economic anomaly. In many ways, it’s sort of magical that people will just volunteer without explicit economic incentives to create artifacts that are meant to share knowledge with everyone in the world”

This isn’t the female gaze. This is the male gaze. It’s men who are obsessed with the physicality of other men. Women, in the main, would much rather see a man who looks like he’d make himself a stack of buttered toast and let you steal a slice
