MANIFEST DESTINY is about love and resistance in an authoritarian post-apocalyptic United States.

It will be the last fiction I publish under my old pen name, and it's coming out SEPTEMBER 12. Mark your calendars (or hit me up for an ARC if you're so inclined).
A book cover: A man and woman, seen from behind, hold hands while facing a squad of armed soldiers wearing gas masks. All is in greytones, except for wispy flames that swirl up from the road in front of them. Title: MANIFEST DESTINY

I think this post is informative because it premises the Kirk situation being bad on being in a decent and stable society, something we have not been in for basically my entire 32 years of life. All these people dream of like home and garden magazine worlds. Little shop of horrors ass epistemology

Solidarity with the Chilean community as they remember, grieve, and struggle for justice.

Today we remember 11 September 1973, where Chile’s democratically elected Allende govt. was overthrown in a military coup backed by Washington and facilitated by Australia’s intelligence services.

The result was Pinochet’s dictatorship that killed and tortured thousands.

This is one of those things btw where calling/mailing VISA et al and being as willfully dense as possible is an amazingly good idea.

Bring up everything you own that falls under the category 'fantasy.'

Bring up everything you own with cat ears.

Be a pedantic little fuck about ALL of it.

Woke up to quite the update on this. I had been in contact with Payment Cloud about getting their service and they waited until now to hit me with the image below. Again, stringing me along instead of being upfront. They had seen my website multiple times before this.
An image taken from an e-mail from Payment Cloud to me. They list prohibited adult work, one of which just includes "Fantasy" which is as wide as cat ears and fairies. We are so cooked.

They erased the new Banksy mural in London. But the stain remains.
Side-by-side images of Banksy’s mural on the Royal Courts of Justice in London. On the left, the artwork appears faded and scrubbed, leaving only a ghostly outline of a judge raising a gavel over a protester holding a placard. On the right, the mural is fully visible in sharp black and white stencil, showing a judge in a traditional white wig and robes striking down at a protester who defends himself with a bloodied sign.

BREAKING: A grand jury has REJECTED charges against D.C. attorney Paul Bryant, a West Point grad accused of assaulting and threatening to kill National Guardsmen.

Easily the most serious charges to get no true billed so far during the federal surge.

Probably the most notable local landmark to the city of Rama is The Glacier (provisionally the Ramán Glacier, but I'd like to come up with a more creative name for it).

This occurs ~3,000 years before my first stories, and led eventually to the imperial cult prevailing in the Empire at the time of the first novels. With fire comes industry, though, and we'll see how changing modes of production complicate things politically.

Rama was founded by some of the first humans to harness the magic of fire. While a few communities had existed south of the glacier, they made the permanent settlement of Rama possible--and started the chain of events leading to the birth of the Empire.

Since this might have been inadvertently covered yesterday... Who specifically were the founders? Maybe some history on them or the legend surrounding a hero.

Take yesterday's specific why to a specific who. 😅

I had nearly made my way past the mushroom fields and food clutches that ring the settlement’s southern void by the time I realized she had not followed—and that I had left my canteen behind. Near the edge of a potato field I found a squat trough of water leaned against a row of stunted grapevines, one of Baltigai’s failed experiments. I paused to drink and stripped to wipe the dust and guilt from my body under the glow of a flickering lifelamp. At the time I could not recognize it for what it was: a simulacrum of the twilit glow that late autumn rainclouds give to Raylian pastures.

DAY 5: Winter in your wip/book/story

People in the Pentagonal Dominion celebrate St. Raeco's Night on one of the coldest, snowiest days of the year. There's a feast in the evening, then they go on a midnight hike to light fires at her shrines and put blankets on her statues
Since today was a liturgical feast day, Parsnips had prepared plenty of food for the larger-than-usual crowd. Guests of all types, merchants and townsfolk alike, congregated in the common room, bumping elbows, sharing laughs, enjoying their ale together, and praising the glorious St. Raeco, sister of Lucognidus, who died in the snow to save her brother from slavery and thus ensured he would live to become a God.
