if i was a high profile intellectual who had insisted for years trump isn’t fascist, or used valuable op-ed space to argue for keeping trump on ballots, not prosecuting him, etc, the range of futures i’d plan for myself would be between “vow of silence in far off monastery” to “shotgun in the mouth”
