ME with my backlog of PS4 games : Enjoy Entropy losers.

This man needs to play a leftist activist like yesterday. Enough of left wing actors forced to lend charisma and cool to right wing jerks.

HP was never very liberal to start with. It ain’t that deep, in very literal ways. The books always had a mean spirited nature, that Le Guin spotted way back when. The author’s views have allowed a spotlight to shine there.

Also, the books are weak. They peak by book 4.

Younger generations “have fallen out of love with Harry Potter because they have fallen out of love with the worldview the series represents,” writes Louise Perry. “Which is to say that young people have fallen out of love with liberalism.”
Opinion | Why Gen Z Doesn’t Love ‘Harry Potter’
The wizarding worldview is naïve.

You Best Start Believing In Thomas Pynchon novels, Bluesky Friends, you're in one!
TOM HOMAN: “We’re going to create a database where those people that are arrested for interference, impeding and assault, we’re going to make them famous. We’re going to put their face on TV. We’re going to let their employers, in their neighborhoods, in their schools, know who these people are.”

“Did you get the photo of the protestor?”
“Sure did, Pam Bondi, and I made sure she looked breathtakingly beautiful while I hid my face in shame just like you asked.”
“Wait…what?”
Scrolling through the photos of Pam Bondi's "Minnesota rioters," it's just hero after hero. Every photo includes a cowardly DHS agent with their back to the camera.

Bondi thinks she's going to win the propaganda war with this shit, but it's never been more clear that they're losing.

To quote our greatest living author:

"Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you."
-- Gravity's Rainbow
Absolutely incredible sequence from CNN.

"Maduro was a paranoid lunatic always lying about the CIA trying to overthrow him. Anyways, now that the CIA has overthrown him..."

it is the same playbook everywhere. “vote for us! we will make you great again by punishing the people you hate! do not pay attention to the fact that we’re also shoveling your money into the pockets of the uber wealthy and building a giant boot to step on your face too (preferably forever)”
The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

Sal Busema has died at the age of 89, a comic legend at least to me, he never got the strong critical acclaim of guys like Jack Kirby, but if your the right fan you know how good he was, and if nothing else, I'm going to miss the way he drew punches in comics.

for me, it was a crucial breakthrough to realize not just that Sal was every bit his brother’s equal, but that he eventually surpassed him. John held his own art in contempt and self-avowedly slept through long stretches of his career. Sal found a savage fire in the belly for his second act.

losing New Mutants to Sienkiewicz hurt. he spent the next decade fighting back, on Hulk and especially his epochal Spectacular Spider-Man.

he was also the one of his generation who seemed to really feel the advent of Miller, a powerful influence on his later work.

we shall not see his like again.

Bovino’s retirement needs to be a cage. His command environment yielded Renee Good’s death, Alex Pretti’s death & Julio Sosa-Celis’ shooting. Failure to prosecute Bovino & everyone else materially responsible for these atrocities will be understood by ICE, CBP, etc as a green light for the next ones

The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

The people of Minnesota did that. Not Schumer and Jeffries, not Walz and Frey, not the standard-bearers of decorum. The People.

Appalling
Carlos Gomez is a Trump supporter who is okay with what ICE is doing. Fuck him.

No, I don't need to be nice, sugarcoat, be open-minded, or have some nuance here. If he supports this, he can rot.
