I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them
What a moment.

That so many of the folks who claimed to care so much about campus free speech in yesteryear are suddenly uninterested today when the problem is just flagrantly, obviously worse (but entails costs in their social circles) tells me they are hypocrites, and I will not listen to them again.

As a person who has, at times, expressed concern about the climate of free speech on campus in years past...

This is much worse. This is 1000% worse. Extremely worse.

No good, very bad, much worse. Obvious First Amendment violation worse.
FAMU can't use the word Black on anything posted around campus related to Black History Month, to stay in compliance with Florida state laws against DEI. Black students can't use the word Black at their Historically Black College during Black History Month.

Next time somebody tries to get me to justify the existence of the humanities, I’ll just point out how for the past two Super Bowls we’ve all jumped online and engaged in collective semiotics and hermeneutics of the half-time show as text.

The cruelty is the point! In order, to make "coloured" people "self-deport" and "re-migrate", the USA executive is making it dangerous to be in America while "coloured" -- so people who can will leave.

I will also remind people that there were massacres of "coloured" Italians - see Louisiana.

RESULT: Democrat Chasity Martinez wins a special election for a legislative seat in Louisiana, 62% to 38%.

This was a district that Trump carried by 13% last year, so a big overperformance by Dems, but the seat was already Dem-held.

CAT REPORT:

This household’s 3 cats all begged to go out on the screened porch. It is below freezing but they screamed for it so out they went.

In a twist that residents call “shocking,” “unprecedented,” & “really surprising,” all 3 cats are now screaming to be let back inside.

Begging folks to realize that ICE enforcement is a mass disabling event.

People are being shot. They’ve been blinded. They’ve been traumatized.

The camps are full of disease.

TB, Covid and measles can all kill but they also disable.

It’s eugenics.

Eighteen cases of COVID-19 were also identified. U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar on Friday visited the 5,000-bed tent facility on the Fort Bliss Army base and said she saw many "chronic issues."

The Epstein files contain emails with doctors advising how to get babies to “suck harder”.

Doctors providing abortions to underage girls.

Doctors treating STIs and ectopic pregnancies in children.

None of them have lost their licenses. They enabled a pedophile & they’re still treating patients.

WaPo editorial board when TX imposes a legislative gerrymander: don't freak out guys! Not a threat to democracy!

When VA responds to TX with *referendum* on their own gerrymander: brass-knuckled hypocrisy, anti-democratic gamesmanship.

There is hypocrisy here, all right, but not from VA.

1. Loosely networked young immaterial/knowledge workers
2. Closely networked ethnic communities, often linked tightly by religious ties

There was some talk of trade unions too, but that never eventuated.
