20% is roughly the share As McGill gives out. Is Harvard feeling the pressure from the North?
Going from 50%+ A's to something closer to 20% will be a hard adjustment for students but hopefully we can market it effectively so employers and graduate schools are aware. And hopefully other schools will feel pressure to follow suit so their grades contain signals as well.

I have been hearing recently that many people don't know about the ability to submit to AEJ-Policy (or any of the other AEJs) after submitting to AER-Insights (following the same process that existed going from the AER to the AEJs)

The NYTimes has clearly not chosen to follow the AP's lead.

The videos--which you should not watch unless you really have to, I assure you--gut DHS's claim, but the NYT *chooses* to *lead* with it.

Or the “it’s my vote to do with what I want” crowd.

Or the “the two parties are basically the same” crowd.

The man doing this won the job fair and square, and everyone who actively or passively brought that about bears responsibility for that.
I don't want to hear from the people arguing "Trump isn't a fascist because he isn't expansionist" ever again.

The US, from what I hear, has about 15,000 soldiers in the region. There is no way they can "run Venezuela" directly with that.
January 3, 2026 at 5:20 PM
Questions:
1. What is the reaction among Venezuela's neighbours?
2. How will they respond if Chaos breaks out in V?
3. Is the Trump admin willing or able to try to stabilize the country and prevent a vacuum?
4. If not, could China, Russia, and/or Cuba exploit a vacuum and how?

Very much agree. This will end my travelling to the US for the time the rule is in effect - even though I have family in the US and regularly attend professional meetings.

International economic associations, include the Society of Labor Economics should stop organizing conferences in the US.
If this proposal goes through, I doubt I'll be attending conferences in the U.S. next year. It would come at a major professional cost, but I'm already concerned about random repercussions from border agents, and this would cross a red line. www.dw.com/en/us-demand...

Other eras got This Guy as Aristotle or Sir Thomas Hobbes. The Nazis had Carl Schmitt, already an enormous downgrade from the first two.

And I suppose, as punishment for our hubris, we get Curtis Yarvin, the dumbest philosopher-of-power-worship that I am aware of.
