Why are there so many more Grinch-themed promotions this Xmas? McDonald's and Walmart/ASDA are big, sure, but I've seen multiple other businesses doing Grinch-themed merch/events this year, and AFAIK there isn't even a new Grinch thing to promote.

It’s not an aspect ratio thing. It’s a leaving-out-the-vfx thing. “Invisible vfx” are unnoticed until they’re gone. In the original, the crew was painted out and replaced by a potted plant. 🪴
