I can still remember the days when Trump was only in the Epstein files 38,000 times instead of over 1,000,000. Oh wait that was yesterday.

why would you say it like that
VAN HOLLEN: Did you in fact make the visit to Epstein's private island?

LUTNICK: I did have lunch w/ him as I was on a boat going across on a family vacation. My wife was with me as were my 4 children and nannies. We had lunch on the island. That's true. For an hour. We left with all of my children

This is important. It was bad enough when moderators were being traumatized by disturbing material created by people. Now we're traumatizing people by exposing them to COMPLETELY FAKE AND UNNECCESSARY MATERIAL.
Shut it all down.
As i have just recently learned, there is no technological answer to training AI to not put forth disturbing images etc. People are paid to remove those results.

We cant make a moral AI because we as a global society cant agree on morals or values.

(I could go on)

He’s a terrible man, but if I think of him as an exiled goblin child I don’t EXPECT him to not be a monster.

Somebody must have written this already, yes?

I’m rereading Wuthering Heights for the first time in decades, and feeling quite a lot more sympathetic towards Heathcliff than usual because Nelly’s account of his arrival sounds SO much like he’s literally a feral fey dragged home as a trophy of some game won against a fairy queen.

She brings everyone to life extraordinarily well, but Emerson in particular cracks me up with his gruffness.

(Oh, God, the books with smol!Ramses also SLAY me. Amelia navigating motherhood with that miniature Moriarty is just chef’s kiss.)

As someone else said on my previous post, we may want to question the culture that encourages athletes, male or female, to compete at all costs. That's fair. But to hold Vonn to some higher standard and expect her to sacrifice her earned spot for the "greater good" strikes me as sexist.

It only took them 12 months to build massive concentration camps all over the USA. You’d think there would be more uproar, but no. No one cares unless it’s in their backyard.

In my experience, talent is a *detriment* to learning.

I didn't have to practice early on so I *didn't know how*. I didn't start to learn how to practice until my 30s! (When much of my life was taken up with parenting, so I didn't have time!)

I didn't start to improve as a musician until my 40s!
I'm going to say this again in case you haven't heard this one: I was a talented writer and it did *nothing whatsoever* because I hadn't put in the work, and I put in the work for ten years (subtracting the bit where I had to quit for my mental health) to write Witchmark

talent alone could *never*

This tow truck driver returns the cars for free as a public service, and he’s been getting death threats.

They hate the helpers.

Which is why must keep helping.

they were worried an investigation would publicly contradict the president’s lie

so they just didn’t do an investigation
Kash Patel, a podcaster selected because of his fierce loyalty to the President, told FBI agents not to investigate the details on Renee Good's shooting because it would contradict the President. Fact matter less than the King's opinion in a personalist regime.
