While that may be a part of it, many Hoosier state senators said explicitly that they, in fact, did not want a new map as they realize that as the population changes so do voting habits within those districts. A district redrawn to be a republican stronghold might be blue in 10 years
I feel like Indiana abandoning Trump is a tipping point. And it’s not because they didn’t want a new map. It’s because he shook them down.

Indiana’s Senate has voted AGAINST the GOP gerrymander that’d have locked in a 9-0 map.
This keeps the 7-2 map in place, saving two Democratic seats heading into 2026.
The vote failed big, 19/31.
The MAJORITY of the GOP senators opposed it!
