Since #bbclaurak is trending, let’s remind ourselves that ONE MONTH ago, the BBC invited Mandelson on for a soft-ball interview on her show. While HIS CLIENT , Palantir’s Louis Moseley appeared as a pundit

Both, as I wrote at time, were ‘abject failures of journalism’

If anything even vaguely beneficial to the UK can come out of the whole Mandelson thing, it should be an investigation into his links with Palantir and a complete cancellation of Government contracts with an organisation that is profoundly anti-democratic and anti-people.

That’s what the emails reveal, unfortunately: a clique of fascist billionaires are working to destroy democracy to maximise their personal freedom and power, and your governments are ideologically subservient to them, if not actively on the take.

I'm going to suggest it's probably not a good idea for the UK Government to continue to do business with this clearly deranged, evil man.

Starmer's brave tactic of doing and saying absolutely nothing about all this needs to be commended. A lesser PM would have fired McSweeney, launched an investigation and taken charge, like some kind of leader. Instead, the PM has cleverly figured that hiding might build a timely air of mystique.
Morgan McSweeney is on the brink of resigning "on his own terms," according to the Sunday Times www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

Really the hardest part of writing a book is just sitting down and starting it and also finishing it and also the middle bit too

I like learning about how to care from comics, cleaning, pressing, etc. but personally I much prefer to just keep the flaws. The foxing, the yellowing, the tears, the folds etc. I appreciate the urge to preserve but the bigger part of me feels that excising the history of the object diminishes it.

Today's my birthday.

If you'd like to help me celebrate, maybe try one of my books, currently on sale! (no shipping to the US, work your shit out)

Serialized, weirdo, slice-of-life scifi for discerning readers.

Or, if you've read the comics, say something nice about them, I always like that.

Comics and comic shops not quite dead yet, it would seem. Not surprised to see the trends and drivers here. DCs Absolute line may appeal thanks to the gimmick of tweaked versions of established characters, but it's worked well because it has generally utilised top talent. Quality is absolutely key.

Really funny to see the British press pretend that all of this Mandelson and Epstein stuff is new when there were people posting pics of them hanging out together over five years ago lol. But that was just quietly ignored because it wasn’t proper journalism apparently
EXCLUSIVE:

Peter Mandelson sought advice from Jeffrey Epstein on setting up his advisory firm, Global Counsel, including how to target potential new clients such as the Chinese government.

Bezos burning the Washington post to the ground is as firm a reason for the continued bbc licence as ever there was. Eventually everything that can be owned by a billionaire will be owned by a billionaire and at that point its future will be determined by the whims of a man making 166k per minute.
