Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

You have to keep giving money to avoid collapse and if there’s collapse you have to give more money. It’s called the free market.

"It’s proof that the American right has spent better part of the last decade letting algorithmic spam tell them what they want to hear, astroturfing themselves into believing that some silent majority out there believes in their worthless MAGA crusade."
"This has all been especially painful for X users who are, as a baseline, extremely racist. And they are now suffering through the psychic torment of learning that users, predominately from the Global South, are behind some of the bigger right-wing accounts on the site."

If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

thinking about how my parents escaped vietnam, where the CIA destabilized my family's home country by spreading misinformation, and they landed in the united states, which is now getting destabilized bc someone in vietnam is spreading misinformation
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

AI seems to be an expensive way to do someone else’s job as well as you reckon they probably do it, whatever, but no use for anything you do yourself, where you can professionally tell it’s hopeless.

Good luck with the bubble, lads.

Horrible performance from Rangers today, well off it, but another win. Barely deserved, but that makes it four league wins in a row.

The cast of characters in SOUP (in my humble opinion) is the best group I’ve come up with for a comic.

Meet a few of them (and maybe back it if you haven’t already) here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/ste...

Thanks!

Reform are so dangerous and this headline doesn’t do it justice. I also think a piece like this should start with the politician‘s core views just to emphasise the urgency.

Me and The Ghost of a Flea…

Flea Circus
The Ghost a Flea is a fascinatingly weird creation, odd even by the standards of Blake’s imagination. The intense, tiny painting broods menacingly in the collection of Tate Britain.

2 dollars away from 2k!

This was quite a modest campaign for A modest print run so I’m really happy to see this go as far as it has.

Prob won’t beat the drum too much over the weekend and then come back all guns blazing next week.

Might add a commission tier.
The campaign for my latest Kickstarter is now LIVE!

This is a great opportunity to get some books and art from me before I move back to Ireland :)

Roger genuinely is the only person working in comics who could pull this off.
I cannot properly describe the joy I feel in announcing that my friend ROGER LANGRIDGE (@hotelfred.bsky.social) is writing, drawing and lettering MUPPETS NOIR, starting in February! @dearbhlala.bsky.social's on colors, Declan Shalvey's done a variant cover & I get to edit the whole thing.

Every single discussion about Reform from now on in the coming years must focus on how they are an anti-British fifth column. Their leader helped deliver Brexit, devastating our economy. Their ties to the Kremlin are undeniable. They will try to paint Gill as an outlier. He is not.
