On this day in 1976, Jenette Kahn, a comics outsider was installed as publisher of DC Comics, which was failing and in danger of shutting down completely. At the time I thought WTF, what sort of corporate skullduggery is this? As did most of comicdom. Man, were we all wrong. She's a legend.

Truly boneheaded article on the BBC website on the rise of AI slop that seems to want to differentiate between “good” and “bad” gen AI. It’s ALL slop, no matter how seemingly benign or crass. This is an attempt to introduce fake nuance into a clear moral decision. You’re anti-theft or you’re not.

0-0 at Easter Road in a disappointing result and performance for Rangers. Lucky to get a point to be fair, Hibs had much the better chances. Might end up a decent point in the final shake up, but sets us back for the moment. Zero cutting edge today, final pass woeful, forwards extremely poor.

Use the materials you're hoarding.
Use that cute pen, the fancy tape, one of the 40 notebooks.
Draw with those alcohol markers before they dry up.

Art materials are meant to be used, not gather dusts.

"I'm afraid to waste it." Time spent using them = experience. And experience is never wasted.

This is terrible news for the arts in Glasgow and in Scotland generally. We all lose when spaces like this close. Can't help but feel a tinge of bitterness about this one.

Slow handclap for Amazon, who took over Comixology, gutted it and then killed it stone dead. A decent, viable product people liked, destroyed for the stock bump. The way we live is completely insane. Fuck these vultures.

Reportedly, much of the remaining staff of Comixology was caught up in Amazon's 16,000 person layoffs yesterday

"Putting this release of Thunderbirds together has been a huge undertaking, so naturally there have been ups and downs. The ups have been the opportunity to finally get Thunderbirds out on Blu-ray in the UK in its original aspect ratio, which is something that has been long overdue."
