do I agree with this or am I just happy to see someone cite the original meaning of “unveiling” contained in ἀποκάλυψις
The reason that we reporters are focused so intensely on the L'affair Nuzzi is that, as Olivia notes, it is a basically apocalyptic scandal in the most literal sense of that term: a dropping of masks. It's acting as confirmation of every hideous story anybody's ever told about political journalists
this was bad before, but these are the most troubling and serious allegations you can make about a journalist. if they’re true, i genuinely can’t think of a worse scandal in the history of political journalism. devastating to our industry, to public trust as a whole, and to everyone in its orbit

This question is nigh impossible for me rn so I kinda have to go with first thoughts:
Pixies - Doolittle - Debaser
Sigur Ros - () - Untitled 1 (Vaka)
Friko - Where We've Been ,Where We Go From Here - Where We've Been
Dolly Parton - Jolene - Jolene
Muse - Origin of Symmetry - New Born
Top 5 Side 1, Track 1s

If you want to see how quickly everyone goes into manufacturing consent mode, compare the full-court press tonight to the response to any of the people ICE has shot in the last few months, some of whom died.

everyone knows the number one quality of rigorous, responsible journalism is waiting months and months to reveal urgently newsworthy information until it can cause the most harm in your personal vendettas

I don't use voice assistant software, but this is a good practice and an excellent rationale.
All that being said, I always make a point of being polite to voice assistant software, and I raised my son to do the same.

It's not Pascal's wager, I just didn't want him to learn the habit of yelling and taking out his frustrations at assistants (who are usually voiced female-coded too)

If I can do a TV show:
The Expanse seasons 7–9

If it has to be movie and a sequel:
Star Wars Episode 9 but good (have Rian Johnson finish what he set up in The Last Jedi)
National Treasure 3 with Nicolas Cage
Guillermo del Toro's The Hobbit
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

I love the third act of Rogue One and think some of the scenes on Jedha are great, but I don't really have a problem with this take on it. The movie is mostly a mess until they turn it into a WW2 commando flick at the end.
rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)

I think Democrats should double down on trans rights now. It's obvious that most voters don't care about it so you might as well stick with your principles and goad Republicans into focusing on it at the expense of everything else so they're the ones who look like freaks.

If the Dems had any fuckin’ brains, saying “the part of Epstein is trying to make laws that let them look in your kid’s pants” would be a pretty easy way to crush the Republicans
it’s also a thing where people can be convinced. the right got some people worked up about trans women in sports but possible to get people a lot more worked up about individual/parental rights, genital inspectors, etc

Targeting Kelly is one of those “this is why we’ll win” moments, bc it shows how politically impetuous this admin is.

There’s clearly no adult in the room to say “wait, maybe don’t go after the charismatic war hero turned literal astronaut who ran after his wife was a victim of political violence.”
Mark Kelly: "My wife, Gabby Giffords, meeting with her constituents, shot in the head. Six people killed around her, a horrific thing. She spent six months in the hospital. We know what political violence is and we know what causes it too, The statements that Donald Trump made incites others."

Gallego and Kelly are pretty mid as far as Dem Senators go, but this is a fucking hell of a response.
Gallego to Hegseth: "You will never ever be half the man that Sen. Kelly is. You, sir, are a coward. And the fact that you are following this order from the president shows how big of a coward you are. I can't wait until you are no longer the secretary of defense."

Me on DOJ’s behavior: “it’s malevolence *exacerbated* by incompetence. That’s problematic enough for the government’s credibility before federal district judges. But at some point soon, one suspects that the Supreme Court itself may well have to grapple with its consequences—or risk being duped.”
194. Another Bad Week for the Presumption of Regularity
Three different flashpoints highlight how much the Trump administration has done, in such short order, to undermine its own litigation efforts and to damage—perhaps irreparably—DOJ's credibility.
