I’ll stress to people looking for the video that it’s graphic and they should avoid watching it.
I wish I hadn't watched that video. I never watched the killing of Renee Good and hope I never have to. I don't need to see it to fight it.

Today at least four federal agents were beating a man and then one of them (I think) shot him point blank while he was on the ground. More agents present.

The level of racism and transphobia and shear callousness involved in people outside the US looking at what the US government is doing to people of color and trans folks here, some of whom are US citizens, and saying “these people are privileged” is intense

It’s cute when non-Americans think we can just leave the country and move somewhere else to escape all this, as if their governments haven’t also made their immigration processes just as cruel and slow.

Right like I'm transgender, I live in rural places, all I fucking hear about is how I'm an abomination unto the Lord, disgusting and unclean. Some English dude thinks his distaste for my citizenship will make a dent? Lol
"You're not ready for how much the rest of the world hates Americans" I live here man I'm extremely used to the concept of hating Americans

I actually think it's kind of important that all those opposed to the nationalist repressions on the march around the world today figure out ways to be in solidarity across borders rather than participating in the same kinds of nationalist essentialism motivating our enemies.

it's fascinating how many gacha games have writers who are well read on literature, philosophy, history, science etc and want to use this in their work while the audience is actively hostile to anything that isn't babybrained key jingling enough. and yet the writers persist

“In the years ahead, as more and more of what makes us who we are is gobbled up by fewer and fewer ghoulish robber barons, we’re all going to have to decide how much of ourselves we’re willing to keep renting from people who hurt us.”
I never thought I would walk away from Star Trek. I’ve written about it for a decade and I’ve eagerly shared it my entire life. But given who owns it now and who stands to profit from Trekkies’ loyalty, I can’t keep promoting it. The Trekkie in me won’t allow it.

Here’s why I’m beaming out.
I Can Say Goodbye To Star Trek Because Star Trek Raised Me
Star Trek instilled in me many of the same values that are taught in houses of worship across the world, but in my faith, there is no God to judge or punish me—I learned how to rely on my own moral co...
