Hi! Do me a favor and let me know who you are when you follow me, especially if you know me in person. I've been ruthless about blocking new followers that look spammy. 😅

However, I respect that not everyone wants to use their full legal names, and I don't want to block you for not using yours.

It says nothing good about anything that many people thought there was an actual chance that man would receive a "Peace Prize."

It is pretty galling that the Supreme Court spent four years telling Biden "you can't do that without Congress" then allowed Trump to seize a once-unthinkable amount of power from Congress within nine months and concentrate law-making authority almost entirely in the executive branch.

Mayor Frey is an enigma: A 2-term mayor with a message suggesting he's the zero tolerance on encampments candidate, yet he has presided over an endless string of encampment tragedies. The shootings, fires, the wackamole strategy, those are his results. The rhetoric doesn't match reality.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

They don't though. They assume they have the power to lie without consequences. Whether we all believe them or not is of no consequence.

I'm sad she's not running for reelection, but if this is the kind of bullshit she's been dealing with behind the scenes, I don't blame her. (Never mind how hard the media has been on her; I hate how small this town feels sometimes.)

mary moriarty speaks of frustration with media and copaganda, tells story for the first time about a case involving a 15 year old boy that was taken away from her and given to attorney general keith ellison by gov tim walz. walz said “this is starting to look like chauvin, it’s going to be on CNN”

Disappointed that he's not hassling them because they preserved his "how about we all come together and stop attacking pedophiles" moment for posterity. (And if Wikipedia hasn't done that yet, they totally should.)

Pro-slave-labor op-ed in the @startribune.com -- great work Steve Grove.

The answer to a question in the headline is always ‘no,’ but Tolkkinen finds it hard to argue against cheap labor.
Headline from the "rural issues" columnist:

Tolkkinen: Minnesota’s Constitution allows $1-an-hour labor for inmates. Should it?
In two rural counties, that labor is being used to build affordable housing.

They are trying SO FUCKING HARD to start a civil war and I don't know how we're supposed to just go on with our day as usual

Someone really needs to ask him how he intends to do this, and why he hasn't done it in the past 8 years.
In a press conference on May 29, 2020, a reporter asks Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, "Mayor, what's the plan here?"

But you're home and dry. Don't underestimate the value of those two things. (I say, as someone who got caught in the rain while jogging a bit ago.) 😅

Some Liverpool thoughts .. this ‘gameweek’ last year they beat Crystal Palace 1-0. The week before they beat Wolves 2-1. Two wins by small margins. In their last two games they have lost by small margins (two stoppage time goals). This is largely how it’s been under Slot and what he wants to change.

I've accepted that this is the "rebuild" season the lundits decided we were going to have last year. And that's okay! I'm in it for the long haul. #YNWA

This year was going to be tough. We knew this. The loss of Diogo was bound to impact player far into the season.

The new players are also coming into that environment. It’s not as easy as some teambuilding and training.

It’s going to take time… give them some grace and love.

this is why i said we don’t have a serious political press in this town. strib only covers shelley madore’s residency issue on october 4, months after ward 2 convention and after weeks after early voting has already begun, all of which is months and months after people have been sounding the alarm

As long as the loudest folks on the left insist tone-policing, compromise on human rights, and acquiescence are our only options for a unified country, they will continue to lose the faith of the marginalized. And even when they win, they’ll just be waiting to lose the same way again.

Six Democratic senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee (Durbin, Schiff, Whitehouse, Klobuchar, Coons, and Welch) voted yes on two Trump district court nominees this morning, and my question remains, why do senior members of this party keep voluntarily ceding political capital to Donald Trump
Why Is This Democratic Senator Voting to Confirm a Trump Judicial Nominee?
If you really think Trump poses an existential threat to democracy, the bar for affirmatively supporting one of his nominees has to be higher than “I don’t know, he seems fine.”
