“Darling, please take my photo while I stand here with my arms outstretched.”
“Why?”
“It’ll take too long to explain. Just do it.”

Finally, the Holiday Special is no longer the worst Star Wars Christmas thing…
A Star Wars action figure of an R2 astromech droid in red and white and gold Christmas decoration, with a baby Grogu Christmas decorated figure and a large Santa beard to apply to the droid. It is every bit as tacky and shit as it sounds.

Listen I know I’m old but THIRTY minutes of ads (nine trailers!!) in front of a kids movie is way too much - and that included THREE different ads for the movie theater we were currently in.

At the end of the summer season Cheltenham Lido drains down the pool and re-fills for winter cold water swimming. But before that, they open it to dogs for the weekend. It's Mabel's favourite day of the year.

Okay, so it had to be done - here's the eclectic (ie non-homogenous) version of the BBC Audiobook collection of the DW Target Novelisations (phew! & yes, I've taken a liberty or two...)

The Lost in Space episode ’Follow the Leader’ (1966) feels like a dry run for The Shining, with the family patriarch becoming possessed and threatening his loved ones. It’s easily one of the scarier things they ever did.

There’s something poignant about ‘Soon to be a Major Film’ tags on books when it never actually transpired

The eyes have it! What monster’s eyeball is this? 👁️

May be a tough one, so here’s a hint: foreign film

I know this one but I’ll hold back, apart from saying it’s a film with multiple versions/titles

Not found footage as such, but I remember really appreciating an episode of the TV series Logan’s Run which used plausible angles for surveillance camera footage. It’s nice when they do it right.

It’s kinda nuts seeing Dorothy the same size as the others, much as looking at these Character Options Sontarans and realising the Seville one should be about a head taller

65 is on film4 tonight.
Set 65 million years ago. Humans are an alien space fairing race.

Adam Driver crash lands on prehistoric Earth.

He only said yes to the mission to pay for his kid' operation...!?

People are aliens capable of interstellar travel but don't have universal health care?

Expensive/exclusive health seems to come up a bunch in (comparatively recent) sci-fi; Prometheus, Elysium, V (remake miniseries) and it’s even alluded to in Star Trek Into Darkness of all things!

Something I hate about the UK is that having magic blood (or marrying someone with magic blood) instantly makes you an expert in everything, and that any mundane thing you do is worthy of note.

New on Netflix, The Woman in Cabin 10 'cycles through ancient cliches but fails to update them or even refresh them in an interesting way…plays like the most dynamic British film of 1934, something you’d find at 6am in the morning on a vintage movies channel…’ 2/5
