Watched Bladerunner again last night. Would have been so much better if they had gone with the original idea, that instead of origami unicorns, Edward James Olmos’ character had made balloon animals.

The problem with writing about a show you've never written about before is how easy it is to fall into the trap of relaying dodgy anecdotes.

I know enough about Red Dwarf and The Young Ones not to do that. But every show has a million traps.

Gutting US counterterrorism and federal law enforcement capacity was a bad idea.

Sorry to get so partisan. I know the president wants to see more political violence in the US, and thinks it's important for federal forces to prioritize crackdowns on nonviolent, noncriminal migrants. I just disagree.

Who doesn’t like a heaping helping of thermostabilized wet meat product on Thanksgiving? Behold of a turkey with gravy prototype for NASA’s Apollo program, cooked up by the kitchen labs at the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center in 1969.

The country wants a wealth tax on assets.

They're panicking because "won't the rich just leave" has been utterly debunked.

They've got no actual argument.

I've been informed that Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" is about sex and bdsm and I legit thought it was just about a rocky relationship.

That reminds me of an older song about eating millions of peaches. Someone told me that's about sex.

I think that sex is 50% really confusing if it's in a song.

ESCAPE INTO NIGHT (1972): Adapted from the novel 'Marianne Dreams' by Catherine Storr, this classic child-frightener saw a young girl's drawings come to life in a nightmarish dream-world. How much cheese was she eating to dream up these cyclopean stones? Remade as the movie 'Paperhouse' in 1988!

Love sci-fi films, but always struggle with novels. My brain can't get to grips with: "Jake awoke in Neu-Croydon and trip-shifted his Snow6. He'd been zamping the Decortex Line long before the Tokyo Dataspleen Protocols, unnerving the Neuro-Eidolon Body who had once declared him an ultra Cyberpug."

I mix up The Loved One with You're a Big Boy now. I already have one and it looks like TCM is running the other soon.
I don't think they're that similar except they're from the same time and I saw them both on late night tv as a kid. I forget which one Elizabeth Hartman was in. 😍 double feature!

Searching for new dinosaur content for my very soon to be 5yo, I am watching a bad movie, what we used to call direct to video, now I guess direct to streaming?

It turns out, making a minimally decent movie is really hard! Most people can’t do it! Including some who, apparently, try anyway!
