And so much of their audience/platform is dependent on this framing now. Idk how the incentives change.

"Ds suck" is what their audience WANTS to hear and any facts that suggest otherwise are gonna be manipulated to fit that conclusion (lest you become a "neoliberal sellout").
yeah, like this is both the clear solution and when you look at the actual informational landscapes that ppl exist in currently, the well is just so thoroughly posioned. So many ppl where this would need to take root--on social media--have been steeping for *years* now in "Ds suck" from all angles.

Once again, we cancelled $86M in Dept of Education funding across all of America’s universities for area & foreign language studies - programs created during the Cold War expressly for national security purposes - because we were told we couldn’t afford it & it wasn’t a government priority anymore.

Impeachable and should get a massive reaction from Congress. It won’t since the majority agrees with him, but we need at least a LARGE reaction.

I know I should ignore anyone bringing up the DNC but I still can’t get over how sad it is. You’re the faction of real fighters and you’d be doing a way better job defeating the right, but you can’t because you got bodied by the DNC? That’s the story you want to go with?

I’ll never get over it in no small part bc I couldn’t imagine a more self-defeating approach to their self proclaimed theory of change.

If people aren’t even willing to fucking vote to stop a GOP fascist from taking power then they’re unlikely to show up in the streets either!
The zero sum argument that “liberals only want people to vote and never do anything else” is ENTIRELY a strawman they use to rationalize the fact that they’re the ones advocating for inaction! (and for no real end other than just to spite people theyve deemed insufficiently radical)

What is with the right and their obsession with branding themselves as heterodox nonaligned thinkers when they are plainly just right wing!

It’s a clear marker of some sort of anxiety about one’s beliefs/role that you just don’t find on the left I think

Super cool and awesome that “Democrats” means
* D elected officials
* D elected officials, but Manchin-ly

* billionaire donors
* small dollar donors and activists
* people who vote for Democrats

It would save anguish if people just indicated which they mean

Conservatives want all the benefits of human empathy to accrue to them without any demonstration that they have it themselves. Turns out you actually have to mean it to get any warm fuzzies back! But they keep looking for another explanation in frustration. Surely it’s bias or whatever!

A close cousin of this is the pop left who essentially act like they “own” all critiques of democrats and that everyone else is too dumb to understand their surface level analysis they got from online influencers
I think there’s people who really enjoy being the keepers of secret knowledge (“America was racist”) and being the person who could lecture others for being too privileged/dumb to have the secret knowledge. It is an enjoyable dynamic for them and they want to keep doing it at inappropriate moments

Even after 10 years of Trump I still couldn’t tell you what alternative vision Dems have on offer re immigration and the border.
As a result they find themselves almost completely paralyzed and ineffectual in any situation that requires more than rehearsing known, “safe” lines about health care and prices. They are unable to act because they just see an endless series of potential backlash to any unfamiliar course of action.
