Rebuilt my map for bollards to get it off Twitter:
Every residential area should have bollards placed like this. All houses can still be driven to, but it prevents thru-routing & drivers "skipping" main intersections. Push all traffic to the thoroughfares. I've done the areas I'm familiar with.

(and the democratic party seems intent on pretending like neither is happening)
Two things are happening. The extreme right is doubling down on terrifying violence. And a democratic coalition for life and decency is mobilizing at a massive scale. Whatever else happens in the US this weekend, the No Kings rallies show where the most powerful political energy is surging.

this is so huge for the working class in blue collar jobs working construction, police, fire fighting & other vehicle necessary careers. it puts the office commuters on the train where they should be and frees up the city for those who need vehicles in the city to have faster trips. seattle when?
this is INCREDIBLE, congestion pricing is already working wonders

Lincoln Tunnel: 10 mins ➡️ 4 mins

When I wrote for Law & Order, we fake-murdered more people on all three shows than were actually murdered in NYC that year. And that was just three shows on one network.

Murder mysteries make good stories. But they’re just stories.

the whole purpose of the moral panic about bathrooms is to enforce gender conformity on cis women.

I’ve posted about this before but I’ve talked to multiple cis women who’ve had this happen.
A cis Black woman was chased out of the women’s bathroom of the RUSD meeting in Riverside last Thursday for being a “transgender in the wrong bathroom” in case you hadn’t heard.

In case it was unclear where this was going all along.

“Advocates” say? Or the data SHOWS?

If it’s the data, just say that.

Like, physicists don’t SAY the earth is round. Physicists just share the data SHOWING the earth is round.

Enough of this “one side says” stuff if one side has the actual data.

100-plus cities in the U.S. banned homeless camping this year. But will it work?

Car bloat imposes myriad costs that fall on society instead of the vehicle owner (dirty air, dangerous streets, etc). It's a classic example of a market failure.

The economist's response: Make owners of giant cars pay for the harms they inflict on everybody else.

My top mobility policy of 2024: Higher parking fees for huge cars

Paris is tripling parking costs for oversized cars. Montreal, Lyon, & Cologne are taking similar steps.

Giant cars worsen pollution and safety, and they use more curb space. Owners should pay extra.
