An interesting moment in German politics. A former minister is indicted for false testimony at at an investigative committee in parlament. He cries WHICH HUNT, i.e., that the indictment is politically motivated.

It will be important how many of his political allies play along with him.

✅ Require code uploads to repositories like OSF or Harvard Dataverse (mandatory code sharing)
✅ Especially important when data can’t be shared
✅ Enable crowd-sourced reproducibility—even if in-house checks are too costly

But code sharing is still rare.
@lukasfink.bsky.social and I found in our paper published in @ei-sky.bsky.social that only ~6% of published studies using SOEP data shared code publicly as of 2021 (doi.org/10.1111/ecin...).
