You don't have to believe that the fascists are competent enough to suppress voting everywhere in 2026 or 2028. You just have to believe that they can depress minority turnout in 5-10 cities to affect entire Senate races & the Electoral College. 2024 was decided by 120K votes in 3 states, after all.

Stating the obvious at this point, but the killings by ICE & CBP aren't isolated incidents; they're the product of a culture of contempt for and casual brutality toward civilians.

I wouldn't be surprised if they've worked something out to protect against this.
Wonder how many ICE agents realize that, when off duty, they could also be targeted under the same "standards" in which they are currently targeting our neighbors

Mamdani's quote about "ending mediocrity" from his acceptance speech is something i think about often. he's not just talking about crybullying racist right wingers, but the mealy-mouthed, cowardly professional class that is forever unwilling to take a moral stand and has helped push to this moment
