Zohran just went out and fixed the Williamsburg Bridge bike entrance. Just did it. No faffing, no nonsense. Bam. Fixed.

No, it was a successful coup. None of the people who led it were punished, and are in fact back in power, rewarded for their efforts to break the system by running it. Donald Trump is currently the dictator he attempted to become 5 years ago, and it’s because nobody treated trying as a crime.
We must speak plainly: January 6th was an attempted coup. It was an effort to nullify millions of lawful votes and subvert the will of the American people.

How much longer are we going to pretend like the BBC is this great progressive institution? It was them who started TERF mania by giving Germaine Greer an uninterrupted platform to spew bigotry in the same kind of format that they're doing with Moldbug now.
Just the BBC, the national broadcaster, mainstreaming a fascist blogger. I guess this is normal now.

in 2024 republicans turned the afghanistan withdrawal into a huge negative for dems while simultaneously branding themselves as the “no more forever wars” party despite everyone knowing they live forever wars

its fucking crazy, and all bc dems refused to defend themselves

this just so perfectly encapsulates the decades-long messaging failures by the dems
Republicans made welfare fraud in Minnesota the most important story in the country. Schumer turned a war for oil into a question about national security briefings.

just a reminder of the initial, in the moment, right wing reaction to jan 6

my favorite is greg gutfeld saying republican condemnation of the jan 6 rioters is an example of their moral superiority over the left

- tech is now more expensive
- you cannot trust most media of reality anymore
- programs barely function
- energy prices
- literal psychosis
- your voice can be literally stolen for evil
- more spyware

but hey, you can avoid paying an artist.

Microsoft is so fucking stupid.

Microsoft renamed Microsoft Office to Microsoft 365 Copilot App

I'm not joking

Polls show that 70% of Americans oppose the war in Venezuela. But at this CBS News staff meeting, that number feels much smaller.

Trump says they're going to make a "lot of money" from Venezuela's oil, oil companies say that's not possible, Rubio says they're not doing regime change and is now in charge of the government but there's still a Venezuelan government in place, they said it's about fentanyl but no charges mention it

I still don’t understand how it could possibly be a violation of U.S. law for a foreign head of state to own or to conspire to own any type of gun in his own country.
So a lot of the charges against Maduro are either cocaine importation, which Trump pardoned Hernandez for, or owning machine guns, which is a constitutionally protected right in the US

As I said the only thing changing for Venezuela, is that American companies are now going to loot the country as well. The regime remains just more US aligned.

I feel like I am inching towards a position of temperance on gambling like we need to shut it all down everywhere for a year and give people a time out.
A side story is there’s a ton of insider trading on these prediction markets. New accounts making hundreds of thousands on their first and only trade, that maduro would be ousted. Seems like insider trading is legal if not encouraged on these platforms
