We've spent ten years being proved right about all the things the loudest, biggest voices in the UK media insisted, often obnoxiously, we were wrong about. The real kicker is that there's no consolation whatsoever in being correct. Brexit, Putin, Johnson, Truss, Trump, Twitter, Netanyahu etc etc...

We are now past the point of no return in Europe.

The ball is in the US court and if they are serious, they will impeach Trump today.

News anchors in the UK (Sophie Ridge) reporting the Trump note with incredulity, saying, ‘it reads like parody’ How embarrassing for the USA. They have been reduced to this, a joke, a deadly serious joke. When will the GOP put a stop to this, they can stop him if they want to.

David is a good follow for many reasons. Today I really needed to be distracted and becoming irritated and despairing again that there are *literal members of Parliament* who think 'Never Here Keir' is a good diss and not them revealing themselves to be unutterable morons has hit the spot.
Be good if those journalists who got quotes from Labour MPs about 'never here Keir' could go back and ask them how dumb they feel now. (I mean maybe they are actually that thick and stand by the comments 🤷‍♂️).

If my posts are anything to go by, there is a very healthy appetite for a major publication or broadcaster to break ranks and share the hard work our government put in every day and positive impact they are having.

If an outlet did this and did it well, they would be instantly popular.

Language matters. Why is a respected newspaper talking about 'untruths' when they actually mean lies? Untruth isn't even a word.

The threat to shut X in the UK is a threat to the whole far right ecosystem.

They're going to throw everything at stopping it because they know it would cause them almost irreparable damage.

That's not the case for more moderate voices on left and right who have choices..

How many more times do Trump, Musk and the whole gang of MAGA motherfuckers have to give Starmer and the UK government the metaphorical middle finger, before decisive action will be taken?

There should be no official government accounts on X whatsoever.

Twitter (in days of yore) punched well above its weight as a social network because it became the default platform for journalists; which, in turn, made it the default platform for politicians.

Both must now abandon it for the platform to die, as it deserves.
EXCLUSIVE: Leaked WhatsApp messages show Labour MPs urging govt to leave X, arguing that it should "show direction to others in the UK"

The MPs said X owner Elon Musk is "fascist" and that the platform's AI tool, Grok, had put "children in harm's way"

On crucial issues the BBC now barely even tries to report facts, only the perspectives of particular political actors on the facts, & without helping anyone understand which perspectives might be worthy of belief. This helped lead to Brexit & now it‘s helping to normalise fascism internationally

The incident is threatening to inflame a deeply contentious debate over immigration enforcement.
