By the way, that happened in Indiana. Indiana has the third highest maternal mortality rate in the country, and it’s really bad for Black women. In 2021, Black women in Indiana had a maternal mortality rate that was 73% higher than white women.
A new bill will head to Congress to prevent women from being turned away or sent home from a hospital while in active labour. This is after a video circulated of a Black woman who was dismissed from a hospital, only to give birth in her truck minutes later on the side of the road.
A woman gave birth 8 minutes after a hospital turned her away. A bill aims to stop that from happening again.
The legislation seeks to stop Black women from suffering during and after childbirth and hold hospitals accountable, according to bill language obtained exclusively by NBC News.

I’d say an exploitation indicator above all. This ain’t the first job listing that has tons of responsibilities to little or no pay. Many companies or known for exploitation.
This job listing is a recession indicator. This is a bonkers responsibility list to end the description with it being an unpaid internship. It says internship at the top (screenshot cut off) but not UNPAID. And that application question? I can't. Be so fr rn.

BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

They want state schools to be job prep while elite schools get education. They'll never do to their kids what they want to do to yours. Their kids will read Chaucer and Dante but yours will read manuals.
My hot take is that over the next 10 years, we're going to see more emphasis on and investment in the humanities at Ivy League and other fancy schools just as state schools and small privates continue to decimate and even eliminate the humanities.
"While other universities report that the humanities are shrinking, at Berkeley, the opposite is true. The music major is the fastest-growing major on campus. We are finding bigger classrooms because film is exploding. English is back to the numbers we saw 15 years ago. We are hiring" bit.ly/4ohKuOe

This interview is a snapshot into where tech companies are with online harassment right now.

They know how to end it, but they decided not to spend the money. They’re prioritizing growth (and profit) above all else. And they’re blaming YOU for logging on to the platform they designed to be unsafe.

Study after study shows that using LLMs is bad for cognition, bad for learning, bad for understanding, bad for mental health. So why are our schools and universities still relentlessly pushing them?
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact they're all mandatory reporters.

And victims of her and her husband have come forward with shit that happened to them back in the 80s and 90s.

It couldn't possibly have anything to do with that though, surely.

It’s a war on so called women dominated professions

It’s also devastating for the disability community

I warned that private equity taking over Walgreens would be bad for workers.

This is the private equity playbook: they hollow out businesses, cheat their workers, and drive them into the ground.
