Lewisham's cycleway network has trebled in size (or has it?)
Transport for London hailed the increase in cycleways in Lewisham, but large parts of the "new" routes already existed.

🚽 World Toilet Day today and I’m off to join the @londonlooalliance.bsky.social at White Hart Lane to enjoy one of the new toilets installed by TfL.

💷 So glad that I eventually got the Mayor to put £3m a year for five years into improving toilet availability on the transport network.
Busy week at City Hall - publication last week of the toilet feasibility study was a big milestone in my push for the Mayor to include public toilets as an accessibility measure on the TfL network and was amazing to get to talk about it on Sunday Politics.

Love that EVERYONE loves toilets 😍

More than 50 trees on Woolwich Common that were set to be chopped down have been given a reprieve - at least for now - after an application to widen a road was taken off a planning committee’s agenda.

In France for a break. The sheer number of cargo bikes you see in cities and larger towns is really encouraging. It doesn’t seem to be a novellty or a fad.

There's a new and helpful TFL update on the Cutty Sark Station escalators. They seem to have made decent progress in September and October.

You don’t have to ban cars everywhere to transform your city centre. But you do have to seriously rethink and redefine the car’s role. There are many ways to do that, from #completestreets to #sharedstreets, pedestrian priority streets & Dutch #woonerfs, that prioritize streets for people, not cars.

TfL may not be interested in taking on the foot tunnels but they are critical infrastructure providing a resilient way for people to cross the river east of tower bridge under their own steam. If TfL can build Silvertown Tunnel for people with cars then they can provide lifts for people on foot.

It really shouldn’t take awesome local campaigners like @escalatenow.bsky.social to provide updates on the lifts for people wanting to cross the river east of Tower Bridge on foot or wheeling bikes.

TfL need to pick up the foot tunnels as strategic river crossings and make the lifts reliable.
The drudgery for local residents continues with both lifts broken despite engineers being on site last week and yesterday. They didn’t even bother to update travel info so it’s left to locals to provide live info including Andrea’s initiative greenwichlifts.co.uk. TfL has the clout to change this.
